About 0.5 km northeast of Hutě is a geological site with a quartz vein whose crystals grow up to 20 cm long. Several cycle routes pass through the village; at the Lužnice, they are complemented by the U Mamuta granite climbing area and a red-marked hiking route. The different routes provide concrete points of reference for getting to know Hutě, depending on the excursion you have planned.

Quartz site northeast of Hutě

The Hutě u Bechyně geological site lies about 0.5 km northeast of Hutě. An abandoned open-pit mine is located there on the 419 m-high Kameník. The quartz vein is up to 2.2 m thick; the crystals in the vein grow up to 20 cm long. Vein thickness and crystal length refer to different scales: the first figure refers to the vein, the second to individual crystals. This describes the geological feature more precisely than a single measurement would. Conditions and access at the quarry may change; check them before visiting.

Cycle routes with different itineraries

The cycling excursion “Heroes of the Past – from Bechyně to Meet Famous Figures” is divided into two separate circular routes. The full 45/35 km cycling route passes through Černýšovice and Hutě, then returns to Bechyně via a bridge over the Lužnice. A shorter option also runs through Černýšovice and Hutě to Bechyně. This shorter section uses a busy road before joining cycle route 1136.

Most sections of the 45/35 km route follow quiet roads; nevertheless, caution in traffic is advised. A busy road section is explicitly part of the shorter option. Another cycling route, listed as 30 km, passes through Bechyně, Hutě and Černýšovice. When comparing the routes, both the stated distance and the described itinerary are useful: the return to Bechyně via the bridge is mentioned for the 45/35 km route, while the 30 km route connects the three places in sequence. The “To Černice for Nature and Golf” route also passes through Hutě.

U Mamuta and the Lužnice

U Mamuta is a granite climbing area with walls and overhangs. It lies on the left bank of the Lužnice, between the Větrovy area and the village of Hutě, and is on the Lužnice route from Bechyně towards Hutě. From Hutě, the climbing area can be reached on foot by walking about 500 m upstream. This is an approximate distance; local conditions and access may change, so checking before a visit is recommended.

A red-marked hiking route runs along the Lužnice. On this route, leave the riverbank once the settlement of Hutě comes into view on the opposite bank. This is a different point of reference from the one for the climbing area: for U Mamuta, the approximate walking distance upstream from Hutě is given, while the hiking route is described in terms of seeing the settlement from the opposite bank.

Junipers and an accommodation option

Near Hutě is the Černýšovické jalovce area, home to a significant population of more than 300 common juniper plants. This adds a specific nature theme to the cycling and river attractions, without requiring another route.

Guests at Chalupa Hutě can rent a boat directly on the property. Check availability with the accommodation. This option can thus be taken into account when planning, without equating it with the independently described cycling and hiking routes.
