Zruč-Senec brings together technical exhibitions, small examples of sacred architecture and leisure activities. Drahotín Pond, east of Zruč, is another attraction. These different highlights give you several ways to plan your visit: you can focus on cultural history, military exhibits, sport or the landscape rather than centring your stay on just one theme.

Aircraft and other technology

Air Park Zruč is a private collection of more than 80 aircraft and other exhibits that can be viewed in Zruč. In addition to aircraft, you can see helicopters, tanks, armoured personnel carriers and guns. Various replicas of military equipment round out the collection. The range therefore extends from aircraft to military vehicles and other objects; technology enthusiasts will find a different focus here from the town’s chapels and historic buildings.

The aircraft museum in Zruč-Senec also offers another point of interest: children can get instructions on how to make paper models. This provides a tangible connection to the theme of flight, without implying that there is a fixed or regularly scheduled programme. As availability may change, check before your visit whether the instructions are currently being offered.

Chapels and sacred architecture

A chapel dating from 1806 stands on Náves 9. května. Its rectangular ground plan, triangular gable and roof turret at the top of the hipped roof make several architectural details easy to identify. Anyone interested in architectural forms can look at these elements individually: the outline of the building, the shape of the gable and the design of the roof. This chapel is therefore notable not only for its age but also for its specific appearance.

Another chapel is located on Senecká. It is small, stands on a village green and is considered an example of small-scale sacred architecture dating from the first half of the 18th century. It was restored in 1957. Its historical context therefore differs in date from that of the chapel on Náves 9. května: one is dated to 1806, while the other is assigned to the first half of the 18th century and has a later restoration date. The two descriptions offer different historical reference points; the chapels do not share the same building history.

The sacred heritage also includes the Baroque wayside shrine on Zlatá, which dates from 1763. Together with the chapels, it shows that the town’s cultural attractions are not limited to a single type of structure. When choosing a theme, you can distinguish between chapels and a wayside shrine, as well as between their different construction periods. The shrine is a separate monument that complements the two chapels; its Baroque style and the year 1763 are its key points of reference.

Pond and leisure activities

Drahotín Pond lies about one kilometre east of Zruč and covers 10 hectares. Its location and surface area give you a specific landscape feature to consider when planning your trip. The pond offers a different focus from the collections and sacred buildings: here, a body of water is the main attraction, while the other themes centre on exhibits or architecture.

Sportovní areál Zruč-Senec offers badminton, beach volleyball, tennis and mini golf. A sauna and whirlpool round out the facilities. If you would like to include sporting activities in your plans, you can choose between the listed outdoor activities and racket sports and the facilities mentioned for relaxation. Opening hours may change, so check the current conditions before your visit.

Zruč-Senec therefore offers several clear alternatives to choose from: technical collections, small sacred buildings, a body of water or sports facilities. You can decide which of these will shape your stay based on your interests, without grouping the different places and activities into a fixed itinerary.
