An educational trail with nature and history branches gives Chrást a clear starting point for exploring the town. It includes nine information boards; you can complete the trail by bicycle or with a stroller. The two branches offer different ways to explore natural history and local history. The route also leads to a former fortified site.

Educational Trail and Local History

The Chapel of Panny Marie is an originally Baroque monument and part of the educational trail. It stands opposite the school and next to a bus stop. Those interested in architectural heritage will find a different approach here than on the nature branch of the trail.

The historic route from Chrást to Závrtek also has its own date: the municipality restored it in 2007.

Skupovna and Railway Heritage

Skupovna is a modernist villa on the edge of Chrást, in the direction of Zábělský les. Josef Skupa and his wife bought it in 1939 as a summer residence. During the Second World War, they moved permanently to Skupovna with their puppets. This sequence distinguishes its original purpose as a summer residence from its later permanent use, giving the villa its own historical development.

Another point of interest is the Velký most railway bridge, also known as “Velkáč.” It was built in 1893 on the Chrást–Radnice line. By contrast, Skupovna focuses on the story of a villa and its use in the 20th century; the bridge offers a glimpse into the railway history of the late 19th century. Together, these places show different aspects of local cultural heritage without telling the same kind of story.

Cycling Trips and the Wider Landscape

The Chrástecký pas covers 26 tourist attractions. Distances range from 3 to 39 km; for farther trips, it recommends full-day cycling excursions. This offers a practical distinction for planning your day: the pass brings together destinations at different distances and recommends setting aside a full day for the longer range.

The popular Plzeň–Chrást railway cycling trail is another option. While the Chrástecký pas brings together several destinations, this option focuses on a specific cycling trail. You can therefore decide whether to plan your selection around individual destinations or a named route.

In the wider area around Chrást, the Berounka Nature Park, with several natural monuments, encompasses the winding canyon of the Berounka River between the Plzeň district of Doubravka and Chrást. This regional landscape is on a different scale from the local buildings and educational trail. When choosing what to explore, you can therefore consider natural history, cultural heritage and the wider landscape.
