Trnavka has a clear local focus: Protestant history centred on the church and cemetery, as well as fishing at Trnávka Pond. Nearby, there is also a cycling route and a green-marked hiking trail. On the way to nearby Kladruby nad Labem, you will also find the listed National Stud Farm. This allows you to weigh up local history, an activity at the pond and a regional excursion as different travel interests.

Church, Cemetery and Local History

Settlement in the area around Trnávka began in the 10th century; the oldest surviving written mention of the village dates from 1333. The village was originally called Tyrnov. The present-day name Trnávka came into use in the second half of the 16th century.

The present-day Protestant church in Trnávka replaced a stone Toleration Church dating from 1797 and opened on 22 May 1884. It continues to serve its religious purpose to this day. Behind the church is the Protestant cemetery, which was established in 1789 and expanded in 1854. The timeline therefore runs from the cemetery’s establishment, to the predecessor church, to the opening of the present church building. Those interested in local Protestant history will find more here than a single date for a building.

Fishing at the Pond and Trails in the Surrounding Area

At Trnávka Pond, the Trnávka Anglers’ Association offers fishing permits and provides fishing regulations for visitors. If you plan to fish during your stay, check the permit requirements and rules with the association in advance. This will help you prepare the activity in accordance with local regulations. The pond adds a distinct activity-based reason to visit alongside the historical attractions.

If you would like to include a walk or cycle ride in your plans, there are two different points of reference: cycling route No. 24 runs near Trnávka, and a green-marked hiking trail also runs there. If you first choose your outing based on how you plan to get around, this distinction can help you decide.

National Stud Farm and Connections to Nearby Towns

On the way from Trnávka to nearby Kladruby nad Labem, you will find the listed National Stud Farm, famous for its Old Kladruber horses. Near Trnávka, the stud farm offers a carriage and harness museum, as well as horseback rides and carriage rides. A museum visit and activities involving horses or carriages are therefore distinct experiences to choose from. If you plan to go horseback riding or take a carriage ride on a specific day of your trip, check current visiting options and availability in advance.

Trnávka has bus and rail connections to nearby towns. Both modes of transport can be included in your plans for getting here or travelling to other destinations; check the relevant connections for your travel day.
