Spojil brings together a circular route, a natural monument, the Statek Apolenka farm and cultural and historical points around the village square. When looking for a holiday apartment, these different highlights can help you get a sense of Spojil as a destination: paths and woodland make it a place to spend time outdoors, while a farm visit, the village square and local facilities offer other points of interest. This can help you decide which activities you would like to include in your stay.
Routes between the forest and the village centre
The Okruh Spojil trail is 6.5 kilometres long and runs mostly along unpaved paths and asphalt. It starts near the Apolenka farm and follows forest paths to the edge of the village. From there, the route can continue along K Hájovně Street through the centre, where you will find a chapel. The route’s length and varied surfaces are useful points of reference when planning your own outing.
The short circular route around Spojil passes the Vesecký kopec natural monument. It is known for its protected plants and interesting terrain. The surrounding area is also suited to walks: you can stroll and pick mushrooms in the nearby forest. This means you can choose between a route with a stated length and woodland activities for which no distance is given.
A cycling or hiking route connects Černá za Bory with Pardubice or Kunětická hora via Spojil and Sezemice. It offers another way to include Spojil in a tour of the region. Check the route conditions before setting out so that your plans match the actual conditions along the way.
Statek Apolenka and local facilities
Statek Apolenka in Spojil is open to the public daily; visitor arrangements may change. Check the latest information before visiting. At the farm, visitors can see common farm animals such as horses, cows and sheep, as well as exotic animals such as llamas, ostriches and coatis. Which animals are on view may change. The playground at Statek is open to all visitors.
Apolenka’s dairy produces and sells a range of products made from high-quality cow’s milk: milk, cheese, kefir, yoghurt and whey drinks. When considering a visit to the farm, you can therefore take into account both the animals and the local dairy production.
Another local facility is the Sportovní areál in Spojil. It is a multifunctional sports and cultural centre for the local population and the general public. Along with the routes and Statek, it is one of the different features that shape Spojil as a place to stay.
Village square and local history
The village square is home to the Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and two commemorative lime trees. The older tree dates from 1946 and the younger from 2008. Two large stones commemorate the former Spojil and Strejček ponds. On a stroll around the square, you will come across a place of worship, two commemorative trees and a reminder of the area’s former landscape.
The ponds are part of Spojil’s origins: the village was established towards the end of the 18th century on the site of the former Spojil and Strejček ponds. The stones in the village square bear the same names, linking a visible landmark in the village with its history.
