Geology, forest trails and local building history offer different themes to explore in Litošice. If you are choosing a destination while looking for a holiday apartment, you will find both outdoor activities and historical traces here.

Geology at the Village Square and Pond

The Litošice conglomerates are part of the Železné hory Geopark. They can be found in the village square and around Křížový rybník. Dredging the pond exposed conglomerates that can be viewed today. Centuries-old oak trees also stand on the dam at Křížový rybník.

At the Litošice–Křížový rybník geological site, small rock outcrops form the stratotype of the Litošice conglomerates from the Cambrian period. A stratotype is a reference site for a rock unit; here, it points to the geological importance of the outcrops. The site is accessible via a walking trail more than 250 metres from the road.

Volcanic rocks are also part of the geological landscape: various volcanic rocks occur around Litošice. From Křížový rybník, a stream winds towards Seník through a valley flanked by a basalt lava vein and other volcanic rocks. Thus, the geological features extend beyond the conglomerates at the pond to include a described valley landscape.

Forest Trails and Seasonal Activities

The forest trails around Litošice are used as cycling routes and connect Polabí with the ridge of the Železné hory. During the winter months, the surrounding forest trails are used as cross-country ski trails; changing snow conditions should be taken into account. This makes the seasonal distinction clear: cross-country skiing is explicitly limited to the winter months, while the cycling routes form part of the described link between Polabí and the mountain ridge.

The sports facility in Litošice is currently used for nohejbal, tennis, volleyball, one-hoop basketball and small-sided football. At the Litocha spring, located in a forest hollow between Litošice and Krasnice, there is a rest area, an information board and a visitor book. Check the current condition of these facilities before visiting.

Buildings and Memorial Sites

The Myslivna in Litošice is a picturesque building dating from the late 18th century. Around 1800, the Vedralka was also built near Litošice as a hunting lodge. Its ground floor was built of masonry, while the upper floor was timber-framed and featured a wooden veranda. The building was later destroyed; its construction details record a different aspect of local history from that of the surviving Myslivna.

The Krasnice memorial is also part of the area's history. It stands on the bank of a pond at the place where four partisans were killed. The remains of the building in which they died are located immediately beside it. The memorial and building remains thus preserve two closely connected aspects of this historical site.

Semtěš–Vlčí skála: Geotope and Legend

Semtěš–Vlčí skála is a registered geological site listed by the Czech Geological Survey and an excursion geotope in the cadastral area of Litošice. There is a low, artificially prepared stone table with seating, associated with the legend of Žižkův stůl. The rocks are used for climbing; the land is private. Check local access conditions before visiting.
