Hiking Trails and the Ruins of Oheb Castle
The ruins of Oheb Castle are near Ústupky and offer views of the Seč Reservoir. They are the remains of a castle founded in the 14th century, towards the end of the century. Today, the ruins are a protected immovable cultural monument. The historic destination and the view bring together two different aspects of the area on the route to Oheb.
The regional hiking route “Za romantikou na hrad Oheb” (“A Romantic Visit to Oheb Castle”) follows the blue-marked trail through Ústupky. From the settlement, a blue-marked hiking trail leads towards the castle ruins and is also marked as the Vlastivědná stezka Krajem Chrudimky nature trail. This educational trail continues through Ústupky to the ruins. A blue-marked trail also runs along the reservoir shore and back to Ústupky. Check trail conditions and signage locally before setting out.
The hike from Ústupky to the ruins of Oheb Castle follows marked trails for most of the way and has only minor elevation changes.
