Tršice offers several distinct themes for a stay: Renaissance architecture, local history, an easy circular trail and waterside scenery. Tršický Castle and the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary offer different perspectives on architectural history. The Otty Wolf Nature Trail combines walking with themes of remembrance, while the reservoir and cascade add a connection to the landscape. If you are looking for a hotel in Tršice, you can plan your stay around your interests: architecture, an easy walk or destinations by the water.

Tršický Castle and its architectural history

Tršický Castle is a two-storey building with three wings enclosing a small courtyard. There is a moat on the south side, crossed by a bridge leading to a Late Gothic entrance portal. The courtyard layout and southern entrance reveal two different aspects of the complex. In 1532, Tršický Castle underwent extensive reconstruction in the Renaissance style. During this work, the two southern palaces were joined to form a single wing. The 1532 reconstruction and the three-wing layout with its courtyard illustrate different aspects of the castle’s architectural history: its transformation in the Renaissance style and its spatial design. The Tršice Museum is housed in three rooms on the castle’s ground floor.

Church in the town centre

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is a landmark in the centre of Tršice. The Neo-Baroque church was built largely through local efforts in a single year. Its architectural history and style are distinct from those of the castle: Tršický Castle underwent extensive reconstruction in the Renaissance style in 1532, while the parish church is Neo-Baroque. Those interested in local architecture can compare a dated period of reconstruction with a short construction time.

Otty Wolf Nature Trail

The Otty Wolf Nature Trail is an approximately five-kilometre, easy circular route around Tršice, with five information panels. It includes the Wolf family’s forest hideout and a panel at the memorial to the victims of the Nazi destruction of Zákřov. The route therefore combines walking with two distinct historical points of reference: the Wolf family’s hideout and the commemoration of the victims of Zákřov. Its length, easy rating and circular format provide a clear basis for planning; the panels complement the walking focus with local and commemorative history.

Reservoir and waterfall

Tršice Reservoir lies in the Olešnice valley and covers twelve hectares. Anglers fish there for carp, grass carp, perch, pike and zander. If you plan to fish, check the applicable conditions and regulations separately. Tršický Waterfall is an approximately three-metre-high cascade in Tršice, just below the local fortress. It is in the Tršická Upland, the southernmost part of the Nízký Jeseník, and is fed by the overflow from Zámecký Pond. Its appearance is partly artificial. The two waterside destinations offer different attractions: the reservoir stands out for its size and fishing, while the cascade is notable for its approximate height, water source and location.
