When planning a trip to Lazce, there are several specific highlights to choose from: children's adventure programmes at the rope centre, historical traces from the Middle Ages to Olomouc's football history, and a cycling route that passes through Lazce on both the outward and return journeys. If you are looking for a holiday apartment, you can first decide which of these aspects of the place you want to shape your stay.

Children's Adventures at the Rope Centre

Lanové centrum PROUD Olomouc – Lazce offers children's adventure programmes featuring themed games, animated activities and climbing on rope obstacles. As part of these programmes, children can try high rope obstacles and a large adrenaline swing. There is a play zone for the youngest visitors, starting at age three. The age indication applies to the play zone; the climbing elements and the swing are part of the adventure programmes. Individual programmes may change, and activities are subject to operating conditions. If a particular attraction is important to your visit, check in advance whether it is included in the programme you choose.

Historical Traces in Lazce

The earliest surviving written mention of Lazce dates from 1298. Also in 1298, King Wenceslas II gave Lazce Island to the Poor Clares' monastery in Předhradí. The two references from that year have different significance: one concerns the written record, the other the donation and the designation of Lazce as an island. The original settlement was demolished in 1746 to make way for the construction of Olomouc's fortifications. In the medieval settlement, a mill stood on Mlýnský potok. A later chapter takes us to the 20th century: in 1914, Olomouc's first football pitch was built in Letná, an area of Lazce. The historical themes therefore span a medieval settlement and donation, the demolition in the 18th century, and Olomouc's early football history.

ASO Park: Former Use and Renewal

The site of ASO Park in Lazce was formerly a municipal shooting range. For a long time, it was used as an excursion destination and hosted various folk festivals. On 10 February 2026, the City of Olomouc announced that the park's renewal had begun and asked people not to enter the area affected by the work. Its former use tells the story of the site; for a possible visit, the dated announcement is the relevant notice. Before visiting, check whether this restriction is still in effect.

Cycling Route Through Litovelské Pomoraví

The leisure route through Litovelské Pomoraví starts at Horní náměstí and is about 31.8 kilometres long. It passes through Lazce and also goes through Lazce on the return journey. The starting point and the place along the route should therefore be distinguished: Horní náměstí is the starting point, while Lazce lies on the route in both directions. Sports equipment can be rented at Demlova ZŠ.
