Three main attractions stand out for a trip to Stříbrná: winter sports at Lišák, excursions on marked trails and the rocky landscape of Skalní město u Stříbrné. There is also Špičák, with a hiking route to the summit and views of the western side of the Ore Mountains. Ski operations and piste grooming depend on the season; when planning an excursion, the route and current conditions are important. If you are looking for a hotel in Stříbrná, it is best to decide on your travel dates and preferred activities first.

Rocks, trails and peaks

Skalní město u Stříbrné is made of quartzite. Its rock towers are between 3 and 20 metres high and form a striking geological landmark in the landscape. The rocks are also of interest to climbers: most climbing routes are equipped with bolts and pitons. As protection and route conditions may change, check the current status before climbing.

Stříbrná has numerous marked hiking and cycling trails, making it possible to explore the western Ore Mountains. To reach Špičák in the Rájecké údolí, the route from Stříbrná first follows a red-marked hiking trail and then a green-marked trail to the summit. This gives you a specific route leading to a destination that offers a different focus from the rocky landscape.

Špičák is 991 metres high. There is a shelter and a summit register at the top; check the condition of the facilities before your visit. The summit offers views of the western side of the Ore Mountains, although visibility and vegetation can affect the view. The excursion is accessible by bus from Kraslice to Stříbrná; from there, continue on foot or by bicycle. Bus services and trail conditions may change, so it is worth checking the timetable and trail markers in advance.

Skiing and cross-country skiing

The Lišák ski area is in Stříbrná, at the foot of the Ore Mountains. It has just under 3.5 kilometres of ski runs at elevations of 630 to 790 metres. The area includes a green beginner run, a wide intermediate slalom run, the forested Touristická sjezdovka and the black run “Rukáv”. Ski operations depend on natural snow; piste availability and grooming vary by season. So check current operating conditions before your day on the slopes.

Another winter option is the groomed Krušnohorská magistrála. It connects the nearby Bublava and Boží Dar for cross-country skiers. While Lišák brings together downhill runs, the magistrála links the two named places on a cross-country skiing route. Grooming is seasonal, so check current conditions before setting out.

Church and local history

The Neo-Gothic Church of Nejsvětějšího Srdce Páně in Stříbrná dates from 1909–1910. The first written references to Stříbrná date back to 1601 and are associated with the Stříbrný potok. These are two distinct historical points of reference: the early mentions associated with the stream and a church built in the early 20th century.

Find accommodation that suits your travel plans

When looking for hotels in Stříbrná, your travel dates are a useful first filter: skiing and cross-country skiing depend on seasonal conditions, while planning a trip to Špičák means taking the bus connection and route into account. Decide which activities matter most to you, and check the relevant conditions before finalising your travel plans.
