Lazne Belohrad combines a long tradition of peat treatments with natural and cultural attractions that can be explored in different ways. Those interested in treatment will find a clear focus here; one route also leads to the entrance of the Kamenná hůra Nature Reserve. Several cultural venues explore regional history, literature and events. When planning your visit, it is worth considering spa treatments, walks and cultural events as separate elements of your stay.

Spa Tradition and Treatment Profile

Bělohradské slatinné lázně has a history of therapeutic peat use dating back to the 19th century. Treatments in Lazne Belohrad focus on musculoskeletal conditions and also include gynaecological, neurological, oncological and dermatological conditions. If you are travelling for a specific treatment, check the current offering directly with Lázně Bělohrad before your trip.

Spa Park, Beech Forest and Trails

Bažantnice is a 51-hectare spa park. The former Annamariánský pramen spring, now called Pramen Vita, is also located in Bažantnice. The park and spring offer a different natural focus from the trails around the Kamenná hůra Nature Reserve.

The Naučná stezka Kamennou hůrou trail begins in the chateau park in Lazne Belohrad and passes through Brtev to the entrance of the Kamenná hůra Nature Reserve. The reserve protects a rare remnant of beech forest growing on mineral-poor sandstone conglomerate. The route through Brtev and the protected beech forest can therefore be considered two related but distinct aspects of the area’s natural attractions.

Another route option is Hopsík a tajemství starého Bělohradu. The trail has seven stops and is about three kilometres long. It is accessible along its entire length to pedestrians, pushchairs and bicycles. Its approximate length and the number of stops provide concrete points of reference when planning the route as part of your stay.

A fairytale walk with carved wooden figures and mythical creatures runs along the Pardoubek pond. Its focus is distinct: the figures and mythical creatures lining the walk. Alongside trails with stops and nature-related features, it offers another way to give a walk a theme.

Cultural Venues and Planning Your Visit

Bělohradská sýpka is a renovated Baroque building open to visitors as a multifunctional cultural venue. In 2024, it was renovated as a space for cultural, educational and community events. If you would like to include an event in your visit, check the dates in advance.

Fričovo muzeum was established in 1903–1904 as a model local museum. As of 24 August 2026, it was not open to the public. Památník Karla Václava Raise has a permanent exhibition about the writer’s life and work and the history of Lazne Belohrad. Occasional exhibitions are also held there; if you are interested in one of these additional events, check the dates before your visit.
