The tallest of the Lensedelské waterfalls is about two meters high. In Kaliště-Lensedly, the waterfalls are on a stream where two tributaries meet; downstream, there are cascades and another smaller waterfall. The spot makes for an easy stop in nature, while the water flow varies seasonally. The approximate height alone therefore does not indicate how much water can be seen in the stream. Kaliště lies on the right bank of the Sázava. The river and the stream offer two distinct geographical reference points for orientation.

Waterfalls and Nature Trail

Those planning to walk can distinguish between the two sections of the Vodnické Vycházky nature trail by length and theme. The first section is 3.5 kilometers long and runs from Ondřejov to Kaliště; it features illustrations by Josef Lada and interactive elements for preschool children. The second section, 2.5 kilometers long, runs through Lensedly and focuses on cultural heritage. It is therefore one kilometer shorter; the first section combines the longer distance with Lada's illustrations and interactive features for preschoolers. Check the route details locally before setting out.

The Sázava as a Waterway

A water-tourism route on the Sázava runs from Sázava to Čerčany and is 21 kilometers long; this distance refers to the entire route. The route includes five weirs, one of them at Poddubí. Before setting out on a paddling trip, check the water conditions and safety at the weir, as both can change. In Poddubí, Kemp a penzion U Bořka rents boats, including accessories. If you would like to use this rental service, confirm availability directly with the provider.

Lensedly: Village Square and History

In Lensedly, the village square forms a conservation area of folk architecture. The square is elongated and medieval in origin; surviving original buildings and protected lime trees are part of the area. It includes small timbered farmsteads and country houses dating from the late 18th to the early 19th century. The square and its buildings thus represent different periods: the square is medieval in origin, while the rural buildings come from a later era. Lensedly's bell tower is made of red sandstone and commemorates those who fell in the First World War.

The Staročeské máje festival has been held annually in Lensedly for more than 60 years; its exact date varies from year to year. It begins with a procession of costumed dancers to the village square. The festival and architectural heritage thus come together in the same place: the village square is also part of the folk architecture conservation area. The first surviving written mention of the village of Kaliště dates from 1428; Lensedly is mentioned in historical documents as early as 1357.
