Cycling routes, rural landscapes and historic buildings give a stay in Lašovice a range of possible focuses. When planning, it is important to distinguish between the different route connections: several cycling routes pass through the village or run in its vicinity, while a red-marked hiking trail only reaches the edge of Lašovice.
Planning Cycling and Hiking
Cycling Route No. 303 between Rakovník and Křivoklát is part of the Greenway Berounka–Střela; one section of the route is at Lašovice railway station. A cycling trip along the Rakovnický potok passes through the village. Cycling Route No. 0046 also runs in the Lašovice area. These routes have different geographical connections: Route 303 links two named places, the trip along the stream goes through Lašovice, and Route 0046 runs in the village area. Check the exact route if you would like to plan individual sections together.
A red-marked KČT hiking trail only reaches the edge of Lašovice. It therefore has a different connection to the village from the cycling trip along the Rakovnický potok, which passes through Lašovice. If you plan to hike, check the current route and markings in advance; do not plan the trip based on the color alone.
Stream and Landscape
The Lašovický potok flows through the eastern part of Lašovice and joins the Rakovnický potok near the railway station. Within the territory of Lašovice, the Lašovický potok and the road between Pavlíkov and Pustověty form the boundary of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area.
The surrounding countryside is used intensively for agriculture; forested areas increase towards the valley of the Rakovnický potok. Both the agriculturally shaped countryside and the increasingly wooded area towards the valley are therefore part of Lašovice’s landscape. Visitors who choose the village for its rural surroundings will find a distinct change in landscape, rather than a uniform backdrop.
History and Historic Buildings
Lašovice was first mentioned in writing in 1143, when the village was recorded as a possession of the Premonstratensian Strahov Monastery. Historic buildings include the Baroque stone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, dating from the 18th century. It stands beside a country road about 180 m west of the edge of the village, on the road to Všetaty.
The exterior of the Lašovice bell tower, including its roof, was repaired. A surviving timber-framed barn is also part of the village’s built heritage. Alongside the statue, these structures represent different types of buildings: a religious monument, a bell tower and a rural barn. They add further aspects of architectural heritage to the village’s early history.
Getting There and Accommodation
Lašovice railway station is part of the integrated transport system. If you plan to use it for your journey, check the current timetable before travelling, as transport services may change. When looking for a holiday apartment in Lašovice, use your own interests as a guide: cycling routes, the landscape or historic buildings. Plan your journey and the actual route separately to ensure the tour you choose suits your travel plans.
