Malinová can be explored through its two streams and village green: the Krakovský potok is one of the municipality’s natural and landscape assets, while the Malinovský potok flows through the built-up area. These different connections to water give the local landscape a clear focal point. If you like to consider waterways and settlement patterns together when choosing a destination, you will find specific points of reference here rather than a long list of unrelated attractions.

Streams and a pond as landmarks

The Krakovský potok rises below a forest in the western part of the municipality and flows south. The pond Rybník Malinová lies beside this stream, next to the road to Krakov. The source area, course of the stream and pond are therefore among the area’s distinctive landscape features, with the pond also having a direct connection to the road to Krakov. The other watercourse, the Malinovský potok, runs through the built-up area of Malinová and across the village green. To the west, it flows into the Krakovský potok. The character of the two streams is therefore easy to distinguish: one is associated with the forest, a southerly course and the pond, while the other is associated with the village green and its confluence with the Krakovský potok.

On foot, by bike or by car

A red-marked KČT hiking trail is designated. You can use this marker as a guide when planning your hike and check the precise route in advance. This is distinct from a road used by cars, pedestrians and cyclists. The two details offer different kinds of guidance for getting around: a designated hiking trail on the one hand, and a road used by several modes of transport on the other.

There is a bus stop. As an older reference, approximately six bus services a day are listed on weekdays. Check the current timetable before travelling if you plan to arrive by bus. This allows you to plan your journey around the actual service without treating the approximate frequency as a current timetable.

Past festivals and events

Past event dates also offer a glimpse of local life. Dětský den (Children’s Day) was held in Malinová in 2021, 2022 and 2023, so it was celebrated in several consecutive years. A summer farewell festival is listed for 2021 under the title “Rozloučení s létem” and for 2022 as “Rozloučení s prázdninami”; both titles refer to editions of the summer farewell festival. There was also a traditional “Myslivecké grilování” (hunters’ barbecue) in 2021, which was held again in 2022. Together, these dates show different types of events and when they took place. They refer to past editions, not to a future date. If attending a festival is important to your trip, check the current event dates separately.

Malinová thus offers several specific points to consider when planning a trip: its two differently flowing streams, the pond on the Krakovský potok, a designated hiking trail, and road and bus connections with different planning requirements. Depending on whether you are more interested in the waterways, a hike or getting there, these details can help you set your priorities. Bus services are subject to change over time; for hikes, checking the precise route is the appropriate next planning step.
