Kojetice brings architectural history and geology together: St. Vitus Church combines Baroque architectural features with remnants of early Gothic frescoes and a late Romanesque portal; the scientifically significant Lom Kojetice quarry lies on the northern edge of the village. There is also an educational trail and a green-marked tourist route. This makes it possible to plan a stay around a range of interests.

St. Vitus Church: several eras in one building

St. Vitus Church has a rectangular, single-nave layout. Its architectural design is Baroque; the tower’s bell-shaped roof is also Baroque, while stained-glass windows provide further architectural features. The portal belongs to a different era: it is late Romanesque, stepped and features an ornamented tympanum.

Extensive remnants of early Gothic frescoes have been preserved inside the church. They include depictions of the apostles and a genealogical cycle of the Přemyslids. Alongside its architectural forms, the church therefore offers a variety of pictorial subjects: the late Romanesque portal, Baroque features and medieval wall paintings provide different art-historical perspectives on the same building.

Kojetice is also home to a semicircular, drive-through Baroque gate dating from the late 18th century. It is in poor condition.

Lom Kojetice quarry and its geology

Lom Kojetice quarry lies on the northern edge of Kojetice and is a geotourism attraction and field-trip site of great scientific significance. Its geology includes Upper Proterozoic greywackes, siltstones, shales and cherts beneath Cretaceous conglomerates. For geology enthusiasts, both the different rock types and their position relative to one another are of interest: the sequence of rocks is a key part of the site’s scientific significance.

A 2024 tourism description calls the flooded quarry a natural swimming area with no facilities and also mentions its use by divers. Local conditions can change, so check the current status before visiting.

Educational trail, route and travel

Lesní stezka Kojetice is an educational trail through Kojetice and the surrounding area. A 2025/2026 update describes the trail as more than two kilometres long, with nine stops and an information board at Lom Kojetice quarry; it also mentions some damaged interactive features. Signage and conditions can change. Check both before setting out.

A green-marked tourist route starts at Kojetice railway stop and goes via Lobkovice and Jiřice to Kostelec nad Labem. Check the route details locally before travelling.

As of 2026, Kojetice u Prahy railway station is in PID Zone 2 and on Line 070 between Praha-Čakovice and Turnov. Zones and transport services can change, so check the current timetable and zone allocation before travelling.
