A wine walk, sculptures depicting seven stages of life and a former castle chapel: discover Hagenbrunn through its landscape and culture. There are several ways to choose a route—a circular trail with an approximate duration, a themed path of life and other hiking trails that pass through the town.

The Wine Trail and the History of Winemaking

The Wine Trail is a 3.5-kilometre circular hiking trail in southern Hagenbrunn, right on the slopes of the scenic Bisamberg. It makes a pleasant walking route and passes through well-tended vineyards as well as along field and meadow paths. The circular route takes about 90 minutes. This approximate duration can help you fit the walk into your day; treat it as a guide.

On selected Saturdays, Hagenbrunn winemakers lead tours along the Wine Trail that explore the history of winemaking and last about two hours. The tour includes a wine tasting at the vineyard hut. Dates and booking conditions vary by season. If you would like to plan your trip around a tour, check the current dates in advance.

my way and Cultural Themes

my way is an 800-metre path of life in Hagenbrunn. Seven stages of life—birth, childhood, awakening, love, family, old age and death—are depicted by sculptures created by sculptors from seven different countries. The sequence spans the journey from life’s earliest stages to its end, giving the path its thematic structure.

With its length and sculptures, my way offers a different focus from the Wine Trail, with its vineyards and field and meadow paths. For anyone who would rather focus on life’s stages than on wine country during a walk, it offers a clearly defined alternative. The sculptors’ origins in seven countries are another distinctive feature of this path of life.

The former castle chapel is also one of Hagenbrunn’s most notable attractions. Along with my way, it offers another cultural point of interest alongside the hiking and wine themes. The options therefore include both a path structured around sculptures and themes and a notable local attraction.
