Barbullush offers two distinct starting points for planning a trip: the agritourism activities at Gardenland Resort and the area's local history, with religious connections centred around the church, school and cultural centre. When choosing accommodation in Barbullush, it helps to start by asking: should the focus be on the resort's facilities and farm activities, or on the area's cultural themes? Barbullush's distinctive features offer concrete points of interest for both.

Agritourism and Resort Facilities

Gardenland Resort is located among the scenic fields of Zadrima, by the Drin River. As part of its agritourism offering, Gardenland Resort provides farm activities. The offering thus brings together the landscape of Zadrima and the Drin with agricultural activities.

The agritourism offering includes freshly harvested vegetables, free-range meat products and homemade dairy products. The Nana e Madhe restaurant sources ingredients from the resort's own farm and the surrounding area. The restaurant's ingredients therefore come from both the farm and the wider region.

The resort's Gardenland Pools include a 1,400 m² pool and a water park with a capacity of 800 people. A children's playground and a camping area are also part of the facilities. Alongside the farm activities, these facilities represent other specific aspects of the resort offering: pools, a playground and a camping area.

Culture, History and Religious Connections

The Church of Shën Shtjefni is situated on a hill near the Drin. The Church of Shën Shtjefni is said to have been the first seat of the Bishop of Shkodër in 1654. In 2017, the church was also associated with the 14th century. These dates refer to different claims: 1654 relates to the bishop's seat, while the reference to the 14th century is a historical attribution to the church.

The first Albanian-language school in Barbullush is also part of the area's history. It opened in 1901, and its first teacher was Lush Kola.

The Barbullush Cultural Centre was inaugurated in February 2022 next to the area's mosque. At the inauguration, it was presented as an Islamic cultural and educational centre for children and young people in the surrounding area. The summer courses at the Barbullush Cultural Centre included Islamic educational activities, games, theatre performances and screenings of educational cartoons.

In the 2025 Catholic yearbook, the parish in Barbullush was listed as “Zoja e Ngritur në Qiell” (Our Lady of the Assumption).

When looking for accommodation, your preferred focus is a useful guide: Gardenland Resort represents agritourism and resort facilities, while the church, school, parish and cultural centre shape Barbullush's cultural and historical themes. Consider which of these two sides you would like to define your trip before looking for a holiday apartment.
