In Knislinge, different interests come together: church art and local history, cycling, fitness activities and golf. Contemporary art is also part of the cultural scene. When planning your stay, it helps to first choose what matters most to you—from a specific cycling route to different round lengths on the golf course.
Church and Local History
Knislinge Church was built in the early 13th century. Its baptismal font is considered one of the most significant works by the so-called Knislinge Master. The church is open on weekdays from 08:00 to 16:00 and during services.
Opposite the church is Klockaregården, a quadrangle farm where the Knislinge Local History Society holds its collections and meetings. The church and the society’s venue are therefore two distinct historical points of interest. Another is Klockarebostället, which has existed since at least the 17th century.
Brygghuset houses two museums on separate floors: a school museum on the ground floor and an agricultural implements museum on the upper floor. The layout makes the difference between the two museum subjects immediately clear.
Cycling and Fitness
The Cykla i Snapphanespår cycling route includes a five-kilometre section from Knislinge to Emmislöv. Another option is the kickbike track: it is next to the bus station and a playground, and is also suitable for younger and inexperienced riders. The same area has a barbecue spot and several seating areas, some of which are covered. The two options are therefore clearly different: one is a named cycling stage between two places, while the other is a track with seating and barbecue facilities on site.
At Åke backe by the water tower on Göingevägen, there is a lit fitness trail. The outdoor gym is also at scenic Åke backe, between this trail and the golf course. When planning, both the trail’s lighting and the gym’s exact location are important distinguishing features.
Golf, Games and Contemporary Art
Östra Göinge Golf Club is just outside Knislinge, beside the winding Helge å river. The course is a partly hilly parkland and woodland course with a varied character. You can play 5, 9, 13 or 18 holes. This range lets you tailor the length of your game to the rest of your day’s plans, without having to commit to just one round length.
For a different kind of game, you can book lanes at the bowling alley in Knislinge. Golf and bowling therefore offer two different ways to play when planning your stay.
Milvus Artistic Research Center (MARC) has been based at Knislinge Folkets Park since 2025 and presents contemporary dance and performance. MARC’s two-year “With Care” programme is a residency for Ukrainian artists focused on performance and runs from 2025 to 2027. Together with the church art and local history, this creates a cultural arc from a historic building to contemporary art forms.
