Campo Olivar can be explored through several clearly distinct facets: historic limestone quarries, religious architecture and sports facilities. Landscape, architectural history and physical activity are therefore presented as separate themes. For geographical orientation, Campo Olivar lies on the road from Valencia to Bétera.

Les Pedreres: Landscape and History

Les Pedreres are historic limestone quarries extending for several kilometres in Campolivar and are of landscape value. They contain archaeological remains as well as elements of ethnological value. Landscape history and traces of human use thus come together in one place. Stone from Les Pedreres was also used for significant buildings and monuments in Valencia and its surroundings. The connection therefore extends from the quarry itself to the architectural history of the wider region: what has been preserved in Les Pedreres matters, as does the use of the stone extracted there.

Local History and Religious Architecture

The Castillo-Masía de San Fernando offers another striking connection to local history. A description from 2023 calls it an enduring landmark in Campo Olivar; its chapel has been in use since 15 August 1948. Another historical event concerns the Barony of Campo-Olivar: the Musoles family took it over on 29 September 1778. The dates refer to different events: 1778 marks the takeover of the barony, while 1948 marks the start of the chapel’s use. These specific, clearly distinct dates help place the local history in context.

The Ermita de la Mare de Déu dels Desemparats de Campolivar is classified as an asset of local cultural interest. Its façade is distinguished by a simple bell gable, a single round-arched window and a triangular finish. The Ermita de Campolivar is an active parish church with regular services; check the current service times with the parish before your visit.

Sports Facilities at the Club

Club Deportivo Campo Olivar is located within the Campo Olivar residential development in Godella. Its facilities include tennis courts, pádel courts, a gym, a multi-purpose sports hall and squash facilities. The club also offers tennis and pádel schools for children and adults. The options therefore differ not only by sport, but also by format: the courts and halls are facilities, while the schools provide dedicated courses for two age groups. If you would like to make sport a focus of your stay, you can take these differences into account when choosing what to do.

Trails and Museums Nearby

A report on works completed in February 2010 described the paths in the rural areas of Campo Olivar as accessible. A hiking route described in March 2026 passes through Campo Olivar. Check current trail conditions before setting out.

Museums in Godella, in the wider area around Campo Olivar, include Espai Alfaro, the Casa Museo de Ignacio Pinazo and the Museo EtnolĂłgico. These museums add a museum perspective to the religious architecture and history of Les Pedreres.
