Zarapicos offers several distinct points of interest for a trip: golf history, riding lessons, a mountain bike circuit and local connections to Saint James. Golf brings together an opening year and a 2026 project; for horse riding, you can choose between group lessons and private lessons. The cycling route is designated as a circuit, while the parish church, statue and procession each offer their own historical and religious themes. This lets you plan around whichever focus matters most for your stay.

Golf History and the School of Salamanca

Campo de Golf de Zarapicos opened in 1990. As part of the “V Centenario de la Escuela de Salamanca” project, the course’s 18 holes will be used in 2026 to honour the most important thinkers and intellectuals of the School of Salamanca. The two years have different roles: 1990 marks the opening of the golf course, while 2026 marks the project honouring the thinkers. For travellers interested in golf and intellectual history, this connection offers a concrete point of interest.

Riding Lessons and Equestrian Facilities

Club Hípico Zarapicos is located at the entrance to the Salamanca Golf complex in Zarapicos. Its facilities include 30 horse stalls, an outdoor riding arena and an indoor riding hall; group riding lessons and private lessons are available. This gives you two concrete points to consider when planning: the club’s facilities and the choice of lesson format. If horse riding is a deciding factor, you can use these points to guide your plans and specify your preferred format when making an enquiry.

A Cycling Circuit

The mountain bike circuit “Salamanca Oeste. Zarapicos,” recorded in September 2023, runs through Zarapicos and Campo de Golf Salamanca. Its circular route offers a different way to plan your visit than riding lessons: you can explore the area by following a named route, while riding options are divided into group and private lessons. If a ride is important to your stay, check the route’s current condition in advance.

Church, Statue and Procession

Zarapicos’s parish church is called Iglesia Santiago Apóstol. A 16th-century statue of Santiago Matamoros is also located in Zarapicos. If you would like to see the statue, check its accessibility in advance. A document in Zarapicos also attests to a historical connection between the town and the Cofradía de la Santa Vera Cruz. The church, statue and document each highlight a different aspect of the town’s history.

On 25 July 2025, a procession took place through the streets in honour of Saint James, the patron saint of Zarapicos. The date makes the connection to Saint James tangible as a public religious event, too. If you would like to include a procession in your travel plans, check the current festival dates in advance.
