Two themes stand out when planning a stay in Llinars del Vallès: its rich natural landscape, with opportunities for walking, hiking and cycling, and its cultural heritage, which ranges from prehistoric sites to churches and a Roman tower. Recurring cultural events round out these themes. You can therefore choose when to visit based on your interest in the landscape, history or a particular event.

Nature and routes

The natural landscape invites you to go for a walk, and there are also numerous hiking and cycling routes. Three sections of long-distance GR trails pass through Llinars del Vallès. This offers different ways to explore the area: walking and cycling, as well as hiking along routes connected to long-distance trails.

Two places offer a tangible sense of the landscape. Sant Joan Sanata lies on a hill 245 metres high, between the landscapes of Montseny and Corredor. Turó del Vent overlooks a natural pass through Corredor, connecting the Vallès plain with the Maresme. The elevation is a defining feature of Sant Joan Sanata; at Turó del Vent, the focus is on the connection between these landscapes.

Cultural heritage from different eras

Castell Nou is the most emblematic symbol of Llinars del Vallès. La Torrassa is a Roman tower and is designated an Asset of National Cultural Interest. From the top of La Torrassa, you can enjoy views of the surrounding landscape. Here, a clearly defined historical classification meets a view across the landscape.

The prehistoric remains also offer different points of interest. The Dolmen de Pedrarca is a funerary monument from the Neolithic or Copper Age. The settlement at Turó del Vent dates back to the 4th century BC. It was fortified and occupied a strategic location; it also bears witness to trade relations between the Iberians and Greek traders and their trading posts.

Specific dates help place the churches in their historical context. Sant Sadurní de Collsabadell was first mentioned in 998 and consecrated in 1130. The present building is based on the original 12th-century Romanesque church. The small church of Sant Joan de Sanata dates from 1572. Together, these buildings and sites represent different layers of history, from prehistoric burial and settlement sites to churches and the Roman tower.

Cultural events throughout the year

The Cicle de Concerts a Sanata is an annual classical music concert series held there since 1998. Veniu a mi. La Passió de Llinars del Vallès is a theatrical performance about the public life, Passion and death of Jesus. It takes place every year on the two weekends before Holy Week at the Teatre Auditori de Llinars del Vallès.

Other recurring events include the Aplec de la Torrassa in April and the Fira dels Torrons on the first weekend of December. If you want an event to determine your travel dates, check the specific dates before your trip. This lets you plan your visit around a cultural event, rather than relying solely on the time of year.
