Platja de Garraf is located in the town centre and is characterised by huts on the sand. It is also home to buildings with clearly distinguishable forms and routes through the landscape of Parc del Garraf. Beach scenery, architectural history, and nature or water sports thus stand alongside one another as different reasons to choose the destination.
Beachscape and Getting There
There are 33 fishermen’s huts and former huts used by railway operators on the sand at the beach. Wooden bathing cabins associated with bathers have also been preserved there. Baixador del Garraf railway station is 25 m from Platja de Garraf. Check the latest rail service information before travelling, as details of the rail infrastructure may change.
El Castellet and Architectural History
At El Castellet de Garraf are the remains of a castle built on the rocks and probably also of the vanished monastery of Sant Vicenç de Garraf. The remains include sections of the defensive walls, the path leading up, three cisterns, the entrance arch and several interior rooms. In addition to the path that climbs from Garraf, El Castellet offers wide-ranging views of the surrounding massif and the coastline.
Architecture in Garraf
EsglĂ©sia de Garraf was consecrated in 1955 and is dedicated to Santa Maria Estrella del Mar. Its floor plan is in the shape of a Latin cross, the porch is formed by round-arch arcades, and the bell tower is square. These features describe both the layout of the church and individual elements of its architecture. Celler GĂĽell in Garraf is also a work by Antoni GaudĂ.
Nature, Information and Activities

The GR 92 CamĂ de les Costes runs about 3.5 km from Garraf railway station to the information centre.
Another route leads from Garraf railway station to Palau Novella. It passes through the wild natural landscape of Parc del Garraf and offers views of the blue sea and far-reaching horizons. As trail conditions may change, check the route before setting off. Its destination, Palau Novella, distinguishes this route from the connection to the La Pleta information centre.
At the foot of Parc del Garraf, Port del Garraf has a centre for sports activities. Activities associated with the port include sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, social keelboat and dinghy races, and diving trips. Check in advance which activities will be available during your trip.
