If you choose Binibèquer, you can plan your stay around different highlights: the carefully designed lanes of Binibèquer Vell, the varied coastline and a specific section of the Camí de Cavalls. This lets you factor architecture, beach character and trail profile into your travel plans.

Binibèquer Vell: a deliberately designed village ensemble

The image of a Mediterranean fishing village in Binibèquer Vell was deliberately created: the complex was built in 1972 as a tourist development designed to recreate such a village. Its architecture is inspired by the buildings and lanes of the Greek Mediterranean islands. The houses have irregular walls adapted to the site’s natural surroundings and terrain. The ensemble thus combines a clear design concept with a variety of shapes and lines.

The white lanes form a maze you can wander through. Binibèquer Vell also has a small open chapel with a bell tower; Mass is celebrated there on special occasions. If you are interested in architecture, you will find more than a general village backdrop here: there are specific features that reveal the design, including the irregular house walls, the lanes and the architecture inspired by the Greek Mediterranean islands.

A section of the Camí de Cavalls

The Binissafúller–Punta Prima section of the Camí de Cavalls is 8.06 kilometres long, follows a coastal trail, is flat and is considered easy. Its length, profile and difficulty rating give you several concrete points to consider when fitting the route into your travel plans. Trail conditions can change, so take them into account when planning.

Along this section, the Camí de Cavalls runs beside Caló Fondo, also known as ses Olles. This low, semicircular rocky area is particularly suitable for diving. The section therefore combines a specific coastal trail with a named rock formation; Caló Fondo is a distinct landmark alongside the trail.

Rocky cove or sandy beach?

Cala Binibeca Vell is a small, rocky cove between Cala Binissafúller and Caló Fondo, beside the Binibeca Vell residential development. Low, rugged cliffs and sparse vegetation shape the landscape. The water is deep; the seabed is rocky and sandy, with Posidonia seagrass. The cove is suitable for snorkelling. This combination of rocky coastline and underwater landscape sets it apart from a beach with fine sand and shallow water.

Playa Binibeca Nou is 400 metres long and has fine white sand and shallow, crystal-clear water. You can also snorkel here, above a sandy seabed with Posidonia beds. When choosing between the coastal spots, you can take into account the key difference for planning: Cala Binibeca Vell is a small rocky cove with deep water, while Playa Binibeca Nou is described as a longer sandy beach with shallow water. Local sea conditions can vary.

Practical information about trails and getting there

Parking is available in the Binibeca Vell residential development; small footpaths lead to Cala Binibeca Vell beach. Playa Binibeca Nou is accessible by public transport in summer. These details apply to different beaches and should not be confused when planning your day. Check current bus services before travelling; access conditions may change seasonally or locally.
