In Castejón de Sos, you can shape active days around different interests: the PR-HU 86 starts in the main square, while the PR-HU 88 is a circular route that passes through several villages before returning to Castejón de Sos. The OR-6 along the Río Ésera focuses on riverside scenery and birdwatching; the Ruta BTT 23 offers a separate cycling route. The options differ in route, landscape and activity.

Hiking and Nature

The PR-HU 86 starts in the main square of Castejón de Sos, on Avenida El Ral. The PR-HU 88, by contrast, is a circular route: it leads from Castejón de Sos through Arasán, Liri and Sos, then back to Castejón de Sos. To help you choose, consider whether a named starting point or a circular route with a set sequence of villages matters more to you.

For nature watching, the OR-6 along the Río Ésera is another option. Among willows, poplars, ash trees and oaks, you can watch a diverse range of birds and enjoy the peace of the meadows and riverbank. Bird sightings are seasonal; if this is your main interest, take the time of year into account when planning your trip. The options therefore suit different interests: a circular route passing through several named villages on the PR-HU 88, or birdwatching and riverside scenery on the OR-6.

There are specific access details for two other destinations. From the track near the gorge, it is about a five-minute walk to the Ermita del Puy; check local conditions before your visit. To reach the Ermita de la Virgen de Gracia, walk from the fountain in El Run. The destination is signposted and has an information board.

Cycling and Paragliding

The Ruta BTT 23 runs from Telesilla Ampriu via Colladeta del Gallinero, Eresué and Sos to Castejón de Sos. The route alternates fast sections and winding stretches with paths through alpine meadows and high-mountain forests. Check current conditions and trail markers before setting out, as trail conditions and signage may change.

In the Castejón de Sos area, specialist paragliding schools, active-tourism companies and a transfer system to the flying sites enable both experienced pilots and beginners to take part in the sport.

Festival and Livestock Fair

The festival held on 12 October in Castejón de Sos is celebrated in honour of Nuestra Sra. del Pilar. If you want to plan your trip around this festival, check the date for the year in question.

The livestock fair has a different focus: it features a market with almost fifty stalls along the main street. There, you can sample and buy artisan agrifood products.
