Beach facilities include toilets, showers, foot-washing stations, rubbish bins, a cleaning service and a children's area. The wooden walkway extends to the middle of the beach, marking a point within this long stretch of sand. When planning your visit, we recommend checking the current status of beach services.
Woodland and access
The La Redondela recreation area lies in a wooded part of the “Dunas de Isla Cristina” public forest. It has basic facilities, but no barbecue areas. Access for motor vehicles is restricted to protect the ecosystem. To reach the recreation area, travel from La Redondela along the H-3400 towards Isla Cristina; take the access restriction into account when planning your visit.
Nature trails and wetland
The Sendero Laguna del Prado starts on the outskirts of La Redondela, on Calle de la Cerquilla, and leads to the former railway station. The one-way route is about 1,500 metres long and takes approximately 20 minutes. If the trail is changed or extended, its route or stated length may differ. So check the current route before setting out.
Laguna del Prado is a freshwater wetland in a depression above the Arroyo del Prado. There are viewpoints along the Sendero offering sweeping panoramas. The trail also shows how the area's use has changed its natural landscape. So a walk here is about more than just the length of the route; it also offers a glimpse into the changing landscape.
The Camino Natural Vía Verde del Litoral leads to the former stop at La Redondela, which has been converted into a sports centre. If you are planning to visit this specific destination, check how it is currently being used before making detailed plans.
