Priboj stretches along the Lim and is divided into an old and a new district. This layout provides a clear framework for finding your way around: the old town is home to a museum and several historic buildings; river events and nearby destinations offer additional ways to explore the city. If you are looking for a holiday rental in Priboj, consider what you would like to focus on: cultural history in the old district, or activities on the Lim and in the surrounding area?

Museum and historic sites in the old town

The ZaviÄŤajni Museum Priboj is located in the centre of the old town and is housed in two buildings. Its departments are dedicated to archaeology, art history and ethnography. The permanent exhibition at the Native Museum Priboj includes everyday objects, most of which were collected from rural households in the municipality. They date from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Hasan-agina Mosque stands in the old town and was built around 1758. The Jevđević Memorial House is the oldest surviving house in the old-town area. Above the old town, on Mount Bić, Jagat is considered the best-preserved fortified site. Together, these offer different historical perspectives: a religious building, a surviving house and a fortified site.

The Lim, rafting and events

Rafting on the Lim is organised in Priboj every year from May to October. In recent years, the Limska Regatta has gone as far as Sjeverin; its route is about 20 kilometres long and takes approximately three hours to complete. The season dates can help you choose when to travel, while the approximate duration helps you plan your time for the regatta.

The Lim Fest music festival takes place as a companion event to the Limska Regatta, over two evenings in the town square. If you are planning your trip around the festival or regatta, check the specific dates in advance.

Pribojska Banja and the surrounding landscape

Pribojska Banja is 5 km from Priboj city centre and is known for its healing thermomineral springs. Ilindanski Dani takes place there over three days; the Priboj Tourist Organisation founded the event in 2005, and it returns every year. As part of Ilindanski Dani, a competition to prepare ćeske is also held annually in Pribojska Banja. The competition provides a specific culinary focus within the event.

The Panja Glava excursion site lies on the right bank of the Lim, near the new district, and offers views of both the new and old districts. Near Priboj, Ober is located on Mount Javorje. At 1,486 metres, it is described as Priboj’s highest peak and is accessible by car. These provide contrasting landscape destinations: a view of the city’s layout and a peak in the surrounding area that can be reached by car.
