Brus offers a range of ways to shape your stay: the Ethnographic Museum and Bruski korzo add cultural and urban highlights, alongside waterside paths, an Olympic outdoor pool and Bruska banja. This lets you explore the town according to your interests in culture, outdoor activities, swimming or its landscape of thermomineral springs.
Korzo, Lake and Waterside Paths
Bruski korzo is the central pedestrian zone in the heart of the town. It is often the venue for events and local celebrations. If a particular festival is a deciding factor for your trip, check the dates in advance. As a pedestrian zone, the Korzo offers a clear focal point for the urban side of your stay.
Brusko jezero forms a natural area in an urban setting at the heart of Brus. A promenade around the lake offers opportunities for walks and running by the water and along the Rasina. Along the Rasina, a footpath lined with green spaces and trees follows the river. Walks and running are the main activities by the lake; the Rasina path is defined by its route along the river and the green spaces and trees alongside it.
Ethnographic Museum and Cultural Centre
The Ethnographic Museum is located in the Brus Cultural Centre. Its permanent exhibition is spread across four interconnected rooms. Since the museum was founded, more than two thousand museum exhibits and other museum materials have been collected. The exhibition therefore offers a continuous overview across several rooms, rather than a single display area.
The Brus Cultural Centre also serves as a venue for cultural programmes, artistic performances, exhibitions, concerts, lectures, workshops and other events. It has a large hall for cinema screenings and theatre performances. If you want to include a specific performance in your travel plans, check the dates in advance.
Memorial Fountain and Construction History
The Memorial Fountain was built in 1952. It consists of a three-metre-high square pillar made of local stone and has a water tap. Its construction year, shape and material give the fountain a distinct physical form: you can identify it both by its dimensions and by the stone used.
Outdoor Pool and Thermomineral Springs
Brus has an Olympic outdoor pool. The Olympic-size swimming pool was built in 1954 and specifically designed and constructed to host swimming competitions. Its construction year and sporting focus offer different points of reference: one places the pool in time, while the other describes its intended purpose.
Bruska banja lies 423 metres above sea level on the left bank of the Graševac, in the immediate vicinity of the central urban area. It is one of four more significant thermomineral springs in the municipality of Brus. Its elevation, location on the Graševac and classification as a thermomineral spring distinguish this part of the area geographically from the urban Korzo and the waterside paths.
