In Piaseczno County, trails wind through the Chojnowskie Forests, link nature reserves, or stretch from Konstancin-Jeziorna to Góra Kalwaria and Czersk. There is also architectural history in Czersk and Piaseczno, as well as the spa park in Konstancin-Jeziorna. You can choose how much to focus on nature, places and culture according to your own interests, rather than settling on a single destination for your trip.

Trails through forests and protected areas

The 28-kilometre yellow-marked Szlak Południkowy runs from Piaseczno railway station via Zalesie Dolne, Górki Szymona and Zimne Doły to Zalesie Górne. The route then passes through the Łoś Nature Reserve and continues via Nowy Prażmów to Prażmów. The named stops make the route easy to follow: forests, villages and a nature reserve are all part of this longer trail.

The 30-kilometre Szlak rezerwatów przyrody takes a different approach. It links Zalesie Górne and Zimne Doły with the Uroczysko Stephana, Chojnów, Obory, Skarpa Oborska, Olszyna Łyczyńska and Łęgi Oborskie nature reserves. Konstancin-Jeziorna is also on the route; from there, the trail continues to Ursynów. By comparison, the ten-kilometre Chojnowski szlak zabytków przyrody is shorter and passes through the Chojnów, Pilawski Grąd and Uroczysko Stephana nature reserves.

Another option is the 24.5-kilometre yellow-and-green-marked trail from Konstancin-Jeziorna to Góra Kalwaria and Czersk. It starts at the corner of Piłsudskiego and Sienkiewicza streets in Konstancin-Jeziorna; along the way, it passes through the Obory Nature Reserve, Słomczyn, Cieciszew and Dębówka. The stated distances distinguish the trails, while their destinations and stops show which places and protected areas are at the heart of each route.

Enjoy nature and follow the trails

The Chojnów Landscape Park has seven marked hiking trails, as well as a network of educational paths for walkers and cyclists. There is a clear rule for visiting the park’s eleven nature reserves: you may visit them only by using existing paths and marked hiking trails. This is especially helpful when planning a trip that includes individual nature reserves.

At the ponds in Żabieniec, you can spot species such as common mergansers, black-necked grebes, red-necked grebes, little grebes, teal, bearded reedlings, penduline tits and black storks. When visiting the ponds, you can keep an eye out for these species in particular.

The Zimne Doły recreation complex includes fire pits, covered shelters, a children’s playground and a forest car park. These facilities offer a range of options in one place; within Chojnów Landscape Park, they complement the trails and natural attractions with a dedicated recreation area.

Castle, literature and historic places

Duke Janusz the Elder had the medieval Gothic castle in Czersk built around the turn of the 15th century on the site of an earlier fortification. Its towers include the Gate Tower and the South Tower, also known as the Prison Tower. The Gate Tower contains reconstructions of the castellan’s chamber and the throne room. At the eastern foot of the castle lies Jezioro Czerskie, a former oxbow lake of the Vistula that is fully protected as a natural monument. Architectural history and a protected landscape feature thus meet in one place.

Piaseczno also offers a range of historical points of interest. The town hall was built in the Neoclassical style in 1823 and now houses the offices of Muzeum Piaseczna. In Zalesie Dolne, now part of Piaseczno, stands Dom Zośki, the Zawadzki family’s wooden summer house. It is associated with the memoirs of Tadeusz Zawadzki, nicknamed “Zośka”, which were used in “Kamienie na szaniec”.

The Piaseczyńsko-Grójeckie Towarzystwo Kolei Wąskotorowej has among its objectives the development of tourism along the Grójecka narrow-gauge railway and the establishment of a museum function for the technical railway monument.

Spa park and brine in Konstancin-Jeziorna

Park Zdrojowy is in the centre of Konstancin-Jeziorna’s spa district. Its main avenue connects Piłsudskiego Street with the brine graduation tower. The graduation tower opened on 21 July 1978; as the brine evaporates, it creates a microclimate in the surrounding area that resembles the climate on the seashore. The park thus brings together a green space and the theme of brine, while Czersk Castle offers a very different historical and landscape focus.

Park Zdrojowy has three playgrounds for children and young people, a volleyball court and an outdoor fitness machine. These facilities give visitors specific options for exercise and spending time in the park. When choosing your destinations, you can therefore focus on different things, from marked trails and natural areas to historic places and the spa district.
