Józefosław combines recreation on Wenus Street with information boards about local history. The area is home to a specific local recreation space and several local history interpretation sites. For a broader regional perspective, the wider Piaseczyński destination also offers its own walking trails and cultural attractions.

The Local Recreation Area on Wenus Street

At the beginning of August 2025, a local recreation area covering more than 5,000 m² was made available to the residents of Józefosław on Wenus Street. The site includes a playground, walking paths, a cycle path and a recreation area with benches and loungers. Blue-green infrastructure and numerous plantings of trees, shrubs and flowers complete the facility. The area therefore includes paths for walking and cycling, as well as a designated area for resting.

Local History at Several Locations

The “Ścieżka historyczna Józefosławia” project was carried out in cooperation with the Józefosław branch of the library and the “Ciąg Dalszy Nastąpi” association. Information boards about local history are located at the entrance to the park on Ogrodowa Street, at the trellis on Cyraneczki Street and on Osiedlowa Street by the art gallery. At frequently visited points, the boards display old maps of the area and a short historical overview. The maps give local history a sense of place, while the brief overview adds a concise timeline.

Information boards have been installed on surviving old houses dating from the time of the first German settlers. The QR codes on the boards link to detailed information about the project and the individual historic buildings. If you plan to explore this digital content, check on site whether the links can be accessed.

The square on Cyraneczki Street also combines cultural information with a place to sit: a 2021 description mentions a bench for sitting and resting there; outdoor exhibitions are held at the trellises.

Walking Trails in the Wider Piaseczyński Destination

Several trails in the wider Piaseczyński destination differ significantly in length and destinations. The 10-kilometre Chojnowski szlak zabytków przyrody passes through the Chojnów, Pilawski Grąd and Uroczysko Stephana nature reserves. At 28 kilometres, the Szlak Południkowy through the Chojnowskie Forests is longer. It runs from Piaseczno railway station via Zalesie Dolne, Górki Szymona, Zimne Doły, Zalesie Górne, the Łoś nature reserve and Nowy Prażmów to Prażmów.

The 30-kilometre Szlak rezerwatów przyrody connects Zalesie Górne and Zimne Doły with the Uroczysko Stephana, Chojnów, Obory, Skarpa Oborska, Olszyna Łyczyńska and Łęgi Oborskie nature reserves, as well as Konstancin-Jeziorna; from there, the route continues to Ursynów. Another option is the 24.5-kilometre trail marked in yellow and green from Konstancin-Jeziorna to Góra Kalwaria and Czersk. It starts at the corner of Piłsudskiego and Sienkiewicza and runs via the Obory nature reserve, Słomczyn, Cieciszew and Dębówka. The four trail lengths range from 10 to 30 kilometres, making it easy to compare them by distance.

There is a practical rule for natural areas: the eleven nature reserves in Chojnowski Landscape Park may only be visited via existing paths and marked walking trails. The landscape park has seven marked walking trails, as well as an educational network of paths for pedestrians and cyclists. When planning a regional visit, you can distinguish these trail options from the rules for protected areas and plan accordingly.

Culture and Landscape in the Region

Cultural attractions also broaden the perspective on Piaseczyński. The medieval Gothic castle in Czersk was built by Duke Janusz the Elder around the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries on the site of an earlier fortification. Piaseczno Town Hall was built in the Neoclassical style in 1823 and now houses the offices of the Muzeum Piaseczna. Jezioro Czerskie is fully protected as a natural monument. This former oxbow lake of the Vistula lies at the foot of Czersk Castle, on its eastern side.
