Stronie Śląskie combines historic buildings with cycling and hiking routes for which different distances and travel times are given. The town is home to a parish church remodelled in the Baroque style, the main street with buildings dating from around 1900, and a restored railway station building. Other attractions include activities at Stroński Park Aktywności and trails around Sowia Kopa. If you are looking for hotels in Stronie Slaskie, these cultural and activity options provide concrete starting points for planning your stay.
Architectural history in the town
The Church of Our Lady, Queen of Poland, and St Maternus dates back to a wooden predecessor built in 1264. It was remodelled in the Baroque style in 1732, and its tower dates from 1816. These dates mark different phases of construction: the earlier predecessor, the remodelling, and the later tower.
Near the church is a votive column with a twisted shaft, donated in 1672 by Judge Wolff. It is considered unique in the Kłodzko Region. Ulica Kościuszki, the main street of Stronie Śląskie, retains buildings dating from around 1900. These include small tenement buildings, houses, hotels and restaurants. At two different locations, you can therefore see both an individual monument and part of the historic streetscape.
The restored railway station building from 1897 now houses the municipal cultural centre Centrum Edukacji, Turystyki i Kultury, which includes a tourist information office. Another place of interest for culture enthusiasts is the Muzeum Minerałów at Kościuszki 40a: the private collection includes rocks and minerals, and there is also a shop selling jewellery made from semi-precious stones. As details about this privately run venue may change, check the current visiting conditions before planning a visit.

Hiking and landscapes
Municipal hiking trail No. 1, “Wokół Stronia Śląskiego”, is a 7.3-kilometre circular route via Stronie Śląskie, Sowia Kopa and Goszów. The walking time is about two hours. Two hours are also given for Pętla Janowej Góry, but as cycling time: the two times can be compared, but they relate to different activities. Local signage may change, so check the current trail markers before setting off.
Sowia Kopa is a 672-metre-high peak in the Góry Złote. Its features include numerous rock formations and wooded beech slopes; residents of Stronie Śląskie enjoy walking there. The Sowie Stopnie viewpoint lies on the slope of Sowia Kopa above Goszów, in the upper part of a rocky escarpment formed from a former gneiss quarry. These details about the location and landscape give the hike a different focus from the longer cycling routes.
The “Albrecht Marien Weg” also has a historical connection with walking: it connects Stronie Śląskie with the village of Młynowiec and was created in the 19th century as a scenic route over Dział Pass to Stary Gierałtów. Today, it remains a walking route.
