Raszków combines a protected historic townscape with a park by the market square, sacred architecture and a cultural walking quest. This means different interests can be brought together when planning your trip: architectural history can be discovered through specific buildings and a monument, while the park and its paths offer a different focus. If you would like to combine several themes, you can first decide whether the historic square, the church, or a walk or bike ride will set the tone for your day.

Market Square and Park

Raszków’s square market is a protected historic site. A 19th-century town hall stands there, and a two-hectare park with numerous attractions begins right beside the square. These include a mini-zoo with alpacas, kangaroos, swans and mandarin ducks. Numerous ornamental bird species can be seen in an aviary. Two distinctly different attractions therefore meet in the same place: the historic ensemble of the square and town hall, and a recreational area with animals and other attractions. Depending on your interests, the townscape, park or mini-zoo can be the main focus.

Church, Town Hall and Monument

The parish church complex of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross includes a 19th-century church. The main altar features a sculptural group depicting the Crucifixion; the altar dates from around 1890. A later change can also be seen at the town hall: during its reconstruction in 2018, a tower that had been part of the original building was reinstated. Another historical landmark is the monument to the Greater Poland insurgents. It was restored to its original appearance from 1923. The dates refer to different things: the construction periods of buildings, the reconstruction of the town hall, and the monument’s historical appearance.

On Foot or by Bike

The cultural quest “Raszków – A Walk Around Raszków” is listed as a walking route lasting 45 minutes. Stops can affect the actual duration; also check current availability before your trip. If you prefer to cycle, the red-marked “Dookoła Powiatu Ostrowskiego” cycling route passes through Raszków. Places named along the route include Bronów, Koryta, Ligota, Korytnica, Głogowa, Pogrzybów and Walentynów, among others. The quest gives an indicative time, while the cycling route is described by its course and the places listed along it. Check route details locally before planning your ride.

More Leisure and Cultural Attractions

In the Raszków municipality, the “Zalew-Kąpielka” recreation complex is another leisure option. It has a modern playground and a fitness machine or fitness area. On summer days, the complex also attracts tourists from other municipalities. This offers a different focus from the historic buildings and park by the market square: here, the listed leisure facilities take centre stage.

EtnoMuzeum in the Old Barn in Skrzebowa is located near the destination. It displays hundreds of original objects from rural everyday life. These include household items, craft tools and kitchen equipment, as well as equipment for making bread, washing and processing food. The collection offers a distinct cultural focus alongside Raszków’s buildings. As visitor arrangements may change, check them before visiting. This lets you distinguish between Raszków’s sights, a walking or cycling route, and a museum visit with a different theme when planning your trip.
