An unusual introduction to Czarnikau’s natural side is the Park Ryb Słodkowodnych in Trzcianka. It is located on Jezioro Sarcze along provincial road 178 between Poznań and Kołobrzeg. Ten giant fish models stand along walking and cycling paths. Information boards share knowledge about fish reproduction, fishing gear and the nutritional value of fish. There are also three forest animal models and six mushroom models. The park combines outdoor activity with topics related to fish, forest animals and mushrooms.
By the lake: a walking path and seasonal beach
Jezioro Długie, also known as Logo, offers another way to spend time by the water. The lake covers 61.3 hectares and is up to 4.7 metres deep. A walking path runs around the lake, and fishing is also possible. In season, the Logo beach adds a large sandy shore to the lake. The walking path, fishing and swimming offer different options; if you plan to visit the beach, take its seasonal opening into account.
Cycling and traces of the Olęders
For a longer bike ride, a 59.5-kilometre section of the Transwielkopolska Trasa Rowerowa Poznań–Okonek passes through the Powiat czarnkowsko-trzcianecki. It is mostly paved and well suited to trekking bikes. Surfaces and signposting may change, so check them before your ride. Another way to explore the area is the “Od mariny do mariny śladami olędrów” route. It can be travelled by bike or car and follows traces of Olęder colonisation in the powiat.
The area’s cultural history is also connected to this theme: in Gębiczyn stands the best-preserved remnant of 18th-century Olęder building traditions in the Puszcza Notecka area.
Church and industrial architecture
In Lubasz stands the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a late Baroque Marian shrine. Its single-nave layout, two towers set diagonally on the façade and unified Rococo interior define its architecture. In Dębe, a post mill dating from the mid-19th century survives as a valuable example of rural industrial architecture. The church and mill draw attention to different architectural forms: sacred architecture with its Rococo interior on the one hand, and a testament to rural technological history on the other.
Explore at your own pace
The powiat currently has six free outdoor quest games for exploring with children and adults. Individual routes may change, so check the route you plan to take before setting out. At “Spacer po zdrowie,” a recreational event organised by Nordic Walking Lubasz, the five-kilometre course runs around Jezioro Duże in May. Check the specific event date and schedule before making plans, as dates and arrangements may vary.
Choose accommodation to suit your plans
When looking for accommodation, it helps to decide first what you want to focus on during your stay: a day by the lake, a longer bike ride or cultural sites such as the church and mill. The destinations described are in different parts of the powiat. So plan around their actual locations and your selections rather than automatically treating them as a single day’s itinerary. This gives you a clear basis for choosing where to stay and leaves room to plan outings around your interests.
