Cycling, wine and culture offer different ways to plan a trip to Nünchritz. The stages give the hiking trail a different structure from the Elbe Cycle Route as a cycling loop. If you plan to visit the audio stops, check their availability in advance, as signs and audio offerings may change.

Alongside cycling and hiking tours, this offers another way to spend time in the area: enjoying wine and a meal with a view of the Elbe. Culture and wine in Meißen
In Meißen, the guided “Wiege Sachsen” (“Cradle of Saxony”) tour passes through the restored historic old town, by Renaissance townhouses and old cathedral courtyards, and on to the cathedral square with Albrechtsburg Castle and the cathedral. The heritage trail offers a different perspective on the city’s heritage. It leads through an old town shaped by Gothic and Renaissance architecture and visits a total of 25 historic buildings, including the late Gothic town hall, the Renaissance portal, Albrechtsburg Castle, the cathedral, the Bishop’s Castle and the cathedral courtyards. The tour and the heritage trail offer different highlights: a guided route through the old town on the one hand, and notable architectural landmarks on the other.
The Meißen City Museum is located in the former Franciscan monastery in the heart of the old town. It illustrates the city’s development with historical models and large exhibits on winegrowing, as well as fishing and shipping on the Elbe. It also displays typical Meißen porcelain and ceramic products. In addition to its permanent exhibition, the museum presents special exhibitions that change twice a year. At the visitor centre of the State Porcelain Manufactory Meissen, you can see how Meissen porcelain is shaped and painted.
Albrechtsburg Castle also offers different ways to explore history: it presents the legacy of the Wettin princely dynasty. The HistoPad enriches the visit with augmented reality and 3D presentations; nine time portals take you back as far as the 15th century.
