Rott is a peaceful mountain village with wonderful hiking trails. Two routes are particularly easy to compare: the Kasselweg and the Rotter Runde both start and end at the car park of Ferienpark Rott on Siegfried-Helbich-Straße in 32699 Extertal-Rott. Having the same starting and finishing point gives your planning a clear reference; the two hikes differ in length and character.

Rotter Runde and Kasselweg Compared

The Rotter Runde is seven kilometres long and has a signposted shorter option. It passes through the varied, small-scale mountain landscape of the Rintelnschen Hagen and the adjacent Weser Uplands, reaching the XXL bench with its views. Its route description therefore combines a clearly stated distance with a shorter option and a named viewpoint.

The Kasselweg (A3) is a signposted hiking trail in the Extertal districts of Rott and Bremke. Its route options range from 3.5 to just under six kilometres. They follow narrow paths and carefully laid stone steps through the Kasselbachtal, climbing to the heights of the Kösterberg. Compared directly, the Kasselweg options are shorter than the seven-kilometre Rotter Runde, which also has a signposted shorter option. When choosing a trail, you can consider their different features as well as their distances: the Kasselweg is described in terms of its paths, steps and climb to the Kösterberg, while the Rotter Runde features varied mountain scenery and the XXL bench.
