Vielitz village church: listed monument and visiting hours
The village church in Vielitz is listed as a monument in Brandenburg (monuments list as of 1 January 2026). From Easter until the harvest festival, it is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; at other times, access can be arranged by prior agreement. Seasonal visiting hours may change, so it is advisable to confirm them before your visit.
Fishing at the lake and canal

Ostprignitz-Ruppin as a wider regional setting
The district also offers nature and cycling experiences beyond Vielitzsee. The Kyritz-Ruppiner Heide covers 12,000 hectares in Ostprignitz-Ruppin and has been part of the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park since 2021. It provides a habitat for numerous protected and endangered animal species, including more than 70 bird species; the wolf has also been among the species recorded there since 2008.
The heath can be explored on electrically assisted fat bikes along unpaved, often sandy paths, allowing visitors to experience its wildlife and plant life with care.
