The top platform of the Himmelsglück observation tower is 50 meters high and offers views of the Northern Black Forest and far beyond. Schömberg offers everything from accessible trails and a seasonal barefoot trail to spa park activities and winter sports. When planning, it is worth distinguishing between these options by route, activity and season.

Views, Trails and Courses

The accessible AugenBlick-Runde Schömberg is 2.1 kilometers long and leads to the Himmelsglück observation tower. It starts at parking lots P1/P2 on Schwarzwaldstraße, opposite the Kurhaus. The “Schömberg with All the Senses” experience trail is also accessible. This gives you two accessible trails with different names to choose from: a loop with the tower as its destination and an experience trail.

The Schömberg barefoot trail offers something different: on a course about 800 meters long, you walk across more than 20 different materials in just under half an hour. It is a seasonal offering, available from May to October; check the latest conditions before your visit. Compared with the 2.1-kilometer AugenBlick-Runde, the barefoot trail is considerably shorter, while the loop leads to the observation tower. This makes it easy to compare the two different walking options by length.

Activities in the Spa Park and Outdoors

From the Himmelsglück observation tower, the Blackforest Flyline runs for more than 500 meters and the Blackforest Flying Fox for more than 600 meters, both descending to the spa park. There is also a mini-golf course in the spa park. Check the latest operating information for the rides before your visit.

The Generations Activity Park in Schömberg has more than 20 play equipment stations. They require dexterity and strength, develop balance or are for play. Annis Schwarzwald Geheimnis Schömberg offers a different kind of experience: visitors solve riddles and tasks to bring the Glücksgemeinde its lost happiness. The options range from physical activities to a mystery story.

The spa and therapeutic forest is open to tourists, local residents, clinic patients and other user groups.

Hiking, Cycling and Winter Activities

Twelve hiking routes are offered in and around Schömberg; the selection may change over time. Cyclists can choose from an extensive network of forest roads and trails with climbs of varying difficulty. The options differ when planning: hikers can use the selection of routes as a guide, while cyclists can plan around the trail network and its climbs.

There are also various activities in winter. Eulenloch is home to the lowest-elevation drag lift in the Northern Black Forest. The Hengstbergloipe is a cross-country ski trail in the intermediate difficulty category; its availability depends on conditions. Before planning, check the latest operating information for the lift and the trail conditions.
