Oberreichenbach offers three circular hikes, each lasting about two and a half hours, two cycling routes and, when there is sufficient snow, the Sonnenloipen cross-country ski trails. The circular hikes start at the sports ground, the town hall or the Bechergass car park. You can plan your stay around hiking, cycling or—if there is enough snow—cross-country skiing.

Circular hikes with different starting points

A circular hike lasting about 2.5 hours starts at the Oberreichenbach sports ground. It leads via Kohlhütte and the Würzbach sports ground to the Pflanzgartenhütte, continues past the former Havelsburg and the Föhrbrunnenhütte, then returns to the sports ground via Schmierofen and Kuchenbrückle. The Föhrbrunnen in the Oberreichenbach forest is a spring, and there is a hut nearby where you can take a break.

A second route starts at Oberreichenbach town hall. It passes through Felsenmeer, Oberkollbach, Unterkollbach, Igelsloch and other locations before returning to Oberreichenbach. This route is also listed as taking about 2.5 hours. A shortcut reduces the walking time by approximately one hour. This means you can also plan a shorter version of the route starting at the town hall.

Another circular hike, lasting about 2.5 hours, starts at the Bechergass car park and leads via the HeselwasenhĂĽtte, Becherberg, Katzensteigle, Brandmiss and Naislach back to the car park. The three hikes are similar in approximate duration but differ in their starting points and stops. The route starting at the town hall also offers the option of a shortcut.

Cross-country ski trails and cycling routes

When there is sufficient snow, the Oberreichenbach Sonnenloipen are groomed, with circular routes in all four districts. Snow conditions are key to planning a winter visit. Check before your visit whether there is enough snow for the period you have in mind.

There are two different routes for cyclists. A circular cycling tour of about 20.5 kilometres starts at the car park by the church or at Oberreichenbach town hall. It leads via Altburg, Würzbacher Kreuz, Würzbach, Sauerbrunnen, Schmieh and the Habichtsfang wetland back to Oberreichenbach. Another cycling tour starts at the Oberreichenbach sports ground, follows the Eselsträßle and Kohlhütte, passes the Habichtsfang biotope and continues via Würzbacher Kreuz in the direction of Altburg. You can choose between a circular tour with an approximate distance given and another route that follows the listed stops towards Altburg.

More places in the municipality

The Oberreichenbach Sports and Adventure Park is next to the Mößackerhütte. In the lower village, residents created a boules court at the corner of Schulstraße and Brunnenstraße. These two places add further named destinations in the municipality to the hiking and cycling routes described above.

More places to visit in the wider Calw destination

The wider Calw destination has more places to visit. Well-signposted paths and routes run in and around Calw, offering a way to explore the Black Forest Central/North Nature Park on foot. In Schömberg, the barefoot park features a course about 800 metres long with more than 20 different materials. Check the park’s seasonal opening times before visiting.
