Saint Francois Longchamp brings together several different ways to explore: ski slopes, snowshoe trails, a rail toboggan run, a route to two lakes and a cultural destination. So when planning your stay, it is worth considering what you want to focus on. The ski area can be described using two different sizes; alongside these, there are specific options for snowshoeing, tobogganing, hiking and the Centre de Balnéothérapie.

Ski Slopes and Snowshoe Trails

The Saint-François-Longchamp ski area has 70 kilometres of ski slopes; the linked Grand Domaine covers 165 kilometres. The figures represent two different scales: the local ski area and the larger connected area. Both ski area sizes can vary from season to season. If you are planning around them, check the figures for the relevant season. The Lune Bleue chairlift makes it easier to reach the snowshoe trails from Saint François 1650. The Rail Park, a snowpark with kicks, rails and boxes, is located at the top station of the same chairlift.

Activities Beyond the Slopes

The La Comète rail toboggan run is 900 metres long and ends with a 540-degree turn. In Saint François 1650, it is located next to the ESF and the Lune Bleue chairlift; as this location information may change operationally, check the directions before your visit. Cani-rando is a family-friendly hike accompanied by sled dogs. The Centre de Balnéothérapie offers something different, with pools, a whirlpool, a sauna, a hammam, and wellness and beauty treatments. The toboggan run, dog-assisted hike and balneotherapy therefore offer different ways to shape your stay. The 540 degrees equal one and a half full rotations; this describes the turn, while 900 metres indicates the length of the run. The figures thus describe two clearly different characteristics of the run.

Trails to Lakes and Baroque Art

Specific destinations are also named for hiking. The Les Deux Lacs route leads to Lac Bleu and continues to Lac Blanc. Another option is the hiking trail from Bonvillard to Beaurevers, which ends at the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Beaurevers, considered a jewel of Baroque art. The two trails therefore offer different destinations: a lake route on the one hand, and a hiking trail to a Baroque chapel on the other. This lets you choose between scenic destinations and a cultural one.

Location and Accommodation Choices

Saint Francois Longchamp lies on the road to the Col de la Madeleine. If you are considering several activities, decide which one matters most and treat the others as alternatives. You can then compare the location and amenities of a specific hotel with your plans.
