The coastal route as a longer excursion

Saint-Mandrier-Sur-Mer is a peninsula that encloses the Bay of Toulon. The “Balade autour de la presqu’île” route takes about four hours and follows varied, scenic stretches of coastline. Numerous pine trees stand above the shore, and along the way there are views of Cap Sicié and Les Deux Frères. Its approximate duration makes this route a longer activity, rather than a short stop along the way. Access and trail conditions may vary seasonally, so check them before setting out.

Water sports and dives

The Centre Nautique de Saint-Mandrier offers water sports activities for children aged four and over, teenagers, and adults of all skill levels. The range spans recreational activities, introductory sessions, and competition. Program details may change seasonally; if you plan to include an activity in your trip, check the centre’s current selection.

Saint-Mandrier Plongée offers introductory dives, training courses, and exploratory dives. Options range from a first try to training and exploration. If a particular dive is important to your stay, check the provider’s current program in advance, as its offerings may change.

Harbour and summer traditions

A small fishing and yacht harbour is located at Creux Saint-Georges. Provençal jousting competitions and training sessions are usually held at the harbour in Saint-Mandrier. Summer traditions include the “Le Vire vire” lateen-sail race. The Fête de la Saint-Pierre is a traditional festival at the beginning of summer that celebrates fishermen. The events have different focuses: “Le Vire vire” is a sailing race, while the Fête de la Saint-Pierre puts fishermen at the centre. If you want to plan your trip around one of the festivals, check the confirmed event date in advance.

Memorial site and chapel

The Cimetière franco-italien is a national necropolis with graves of soldiers from the First World War and Italian soldiers from the Second World War. The cemetery is open free of charge every day of the year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; check the visiting information locally before your visit. The Chapelle Saint-Louis, also known as the chapelle des Mécaniciens, is a neoclassical chapel in Saint-Mandrier-Sur-Mer. Visits are possible only by appointment during the European Heritage Days.

Open-air market at the harbour and in the village streets

The Grand Market of Saint-Mandrier-Sur-Mer is an open-air market at the yacht harbour and in the village lanes. It offers local produce, Provençal foods, handicrafts, and regional specialities. In this way, the market brings together a variety of goods and crafts at two locations in the town: around the harbour and in the village streets.
