Rocheservière offers several distinct ways to enjoy a stay of discovery: art and history, trails and landscapes, and activities centered on water sports. Its heritage ranges from a 17th-century altarpiece to a collection of stained-glass windows; outdoors, walks with views of the Boulogne’s meanders sit alongside named hiking and cycling routes. This lets you choose a focus based on your interests and get to know the town from more than one perspective.
Experience art and history firsthand
At Site Saint-Sauveur, the chapel displays the altarpiece of the Transfiguration in a specially designed setting. This religious artwork from the 17th century is protected as a historic monument and was fully restored in 2011. An altarpiece is an altar piece—here, a specific work of sacred art takes center stage. A building in Rocheservière also houses a 17th-century statue of the Virgin Mary, classified as a historic monument, and a collection of 56 stained-glass windows. The windows are divided into four thematic sections. This places the individual statue and the specially displayed altarpiece alongside a thematically organized collection: different forms that let you focus your heritage visit on a single work or a larger group.
Trails, distances and views of the Boulogne
For walks, Parc de Belleroche offers varied views of the Boulogne’s meanders and rocky cliffs. There are also two named hiking trails to choose from: the Sentier de la Dorinière is 8.9 kilometers long; the Sentier des Rochettes is a 9.6-kilometer municipal circular trail. The difference of 0.7 kilometers is small, while their designations as a hiking trail and a circular trail offer another clear distinction. A longer alternative in a different form of activity is the 26.2-kilometer Boucle des Vignes cycling route, which is connected to Rocheservière. This makes it easy to compare the routes by distance and activity.
Water sports and other activities
Base nautique de la Boulogne rents canoes, kayaks, boats and stand-up paddleboards. It also offers private lessons, group activities and courses. Another kind of activity is the family game “Le trésor de Vilma et Grim.” The range therefore includes not only various rental options, but also lessons, group activities and a game. When choosing, you can focus on the type of activity that interests you.
An art program with set dates
In the 2026/2027 program, the Académie Saint-Sauveur returns in autumn with five artistic workshops open to everyone, combining book arts, calligraphy, illustration and textile design. The program adds a cultural focus alongside the trails and water sports. As offerings may change, it is advisable to check the program before your visit.
