A covered market hall on Place Saint-Jean is now used as the town hall. There are also covered passageways, protected areas, wine experiences, and an animal and leisure park. These varied attractions offer concrete ways to decide what you would like to focus on during a stay in Lansargues.
Market Hall and Covered Passageways
The market hall on Place Saint-Jean was built as a metal structure in the style of Paris’s Pavillon Baltard and occupies one end of the square. Its striking design is now combined with its use as the town hall. If you are interested in the town’s architecture, you can take in both the metal structure and its change from market hall to town hall.
The town’s covered passageways reveal another side of Lansargues. They run through blocks of houses, connect streets or lanes, or provide access to shared courtyards. Eight of the passageways lie within the area bounded by Rue Jacques Crouzet, the small square, Rue de l’Argenterie, Rue de la Chicanette, and Rue Montels. Together, a single building on a square and the smaller connections between blocks of houses illustrate different scales of the town’s architecture.
Protected Areas and Trails
The Étang de Mauguio Special Area of Conservation (FR 9101408), part of the Natura 2000 network, extends into some of Lansargues. As of August 11, 2026, the protected-area designation remained in force. The area overlaps with part of the town, not Lansargues as a whole.
The Étang de l’Or protected area includes Lansargues and is open to the public. Access is restricted to dikes and paths; some areas may be closed in spring to protect nesting birds. If you are planning a visit, check the routes and any seasonal closures in advance. These route restrictions and conditional closures are practical considerations when planning a visit to this protected area.
Wine and Produce at Enclos de la Croix
A visit to Enclos de la Croix is followed by a tasting of white, rosé, and red wines. Its 16 organic cuvées are made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Manseng, and Riesling. The organic range also includes olive oil and tapenades; fresh garden vegetables are available to taste.
The winery offers rides through the vineyards on electric scooters, by reservation. The tasting and the ride offer different experiences: the tasting follows the tour, while the activity requiring a reservation takes you through the vineyards. As availability may change, check in advance if you are planning a ride.
Les Petits Fermiers
Les Petits Fermiers de Lansargues is an animal and leisure park, 20 minutes from Montpellier and the beaches. It offers farm animals, a landscaped garden, outdoor games, and inflatable play equipment. Water games are available on warm days; a paddling pool is available in July and August. When choosing when to visit, it is helpful to distinguish between the two water features: the water games are available on warm days, while the paddling pool is available in July and August.
