Trébabu offers a range of ways to plan your stay: trails to the church and chapel, the architectural history of Château de Kermorvan-Névé, and the story of the Kerjan-Mol tidal mill. These themes can help you choose a holiday rental: are you most interested in routes to cultural sites, architectural styles or local history? This can help you decide what to focus on during your stay, without assuming a fixed itinerary.

Trails to the Church, Chapel and Coast

Trébabu offers several hiking trails and sections suitable for gentle mobility, where you can discover the Saint-Tugdual Church and the Notre-Dame du Val Chapel on foot or by bicycle. A circular trail runs from Trébabu to the GR34 and follows part of the extensive Plage des Blancs Sablons. The destinations therefore differ: the first trails focus on the church and chapel, while the circular trail leads to the GR34 and along part of the beach. Check coastal conditions before setting out.

The Pays d'Iroise Greeters offer the guided tour “Trébabu, entre l’étang et les châteaux,” which you can book. It follows trails and sunken lanes through Trébabu and includes a viewpoint over the Ria du Conquet. Unlike the circular trail to the GR34 and Plage des Blancs Sablons, this tour focuses on the type of path and the viewpoint. Before booking, check whether the tour is currently listed and a host is available.

Château, Mill and Architectural History

Château de Kermorvan-Névé was probably built in the third quarter of the 19th century; it may have been created by converting an older building. The château includes a park, a chapel and outbuildings. Its rectangular central block stands between two corner towers; the façade is regularly arranged in five bays.

Another historical focus is the Kerjan-Mol tidal mill: it is said to have been destroyed by German troops in 1944. While the château’s architectural history is associated with a probable construction date and a possible conversion, the story of Kerjan-Mol focuses on this reported event.

Notre-Dame du Val and Saint-Tugdual

The Notre-Dame du Val Chapel stands on the slope of the Kerléo valley. It is rectangular; its portal is made of Kersanton stone, and its bell gable has two arches. The “Vierge à la figue” is also linked to a specific story: the statue was stolen in 1977 and returned 28 years later.

The cemetery beside Saint-Tugdual Church contains older graves belonging to noble families, with coats of arms carved into them. The sites therefore offer different points of interest: Notre-Dame du Val focuses on its architectural form and statue, while the cemetery features coats of arms on the older graves.

Directions to the Chapel

To reach the chapel, take the D67 from Le Conquet towards Saint-Renan. One kilometre after the crossroads, turn left towards Trébabu, drive through the village, continue along the road and turn left again. You can park at the bottom of the slope.
