Rosnoën forms a peninsula between the Rivière du Faou, also known as the Rade de Brest, to the north and the maritime Aulne to the south. The commune has 23 kilometres of coastline. Its routes pass through varied landscapes: woodland, farmland, fields, riverbanks and floodplain. Other highlights include a striking bridge, a viewpoint and the parish church of Saint-Audoën. This gives you several specific landscape and cultural themes to choose from when planning your trip.

Routes between coast, woodland and floodplain

The Circuit du Saut du Loup passes through woodland, riverbank areas and farmland. At times of a large tidal range, water may make the route impassable. If you plan to take this route, check the tide conditions before setting out.

The Circuit des Deux Rivières is 14 kilometres long and connects the shore of the Rade de Brest with the Aulne floodplain. The 9.5-kilometre Sentier de Térénez starts at the Pont de Térénez, passes through fields and woodland, and offers far-reaching views of the Rade de Brest and the Aulne Valley. The difference between the stated route lengths is 4.5 kilometres. The routes also differ in character: the Circuit focuses on connecting two waterside areas, while the Sentier is defined by its starting point at the bridge, its fields and woodland, and its distant views.

Bridge and viewpoints

The Pont de Térénez is a curved cable-stayed bridge with a span of 285 metres; it was inaugurated in April 2011. It is also a clear reference point for choosing a route, as the starting point of the Sentier de Térénez. Its design and span shape the architectural landscape, while its inauguration date provides a fixed historical reference. The route starting point and the structure offer two distinct points of interest: the Sentier starts at the bridge, which can also be appreciated for its form and history.

From the Belvédère de Rosnoën, panoramic views take in the maritime Aulne and the Ménez-Hom. The viewpoint is also a launch site for paragliding above the Aulne; check operating conditions locally. The views differ from those along the Sentier de Térénez: there, views extend across the Rade de Brest and the Aulne Valley, while the panorama from the Belvédère takes in the maritime Aulne and the Ménez-Hom.

Religious architectural history

The parish church of Saint-Audoën adds a cultural and historical point of interest to the landscape. It was built between the 16th and 17th centuries and is considered one of the notable religious buildings in the region around Le Faou. Its significance is therefore regional. In contrast to the Pont de Térénez, inaugurated in 2011, its construction dates back to a much earlier period. The two structures offer different historical perspectives: religious architecture from the 16th and 17th centuries and a curved bridge from a more recent period.
