For a stay in Bellerive-Sur-Allier, trails, a freely accessible château park, cultural events and sports offer a range of options. The Château du Bost park includes an orchard, remarkable trees, a walking trail, a pond and a small square. If you are looking for a hotel, you can plan your trip around the activities you want to shape your stay.
Trails and routes in nature
The Boucle du Lac is a 6.3 km route around Lac d’Allier. The Boucle des Isles is 12.7 km long and is a circular route between Bellerive, Vichy and Hauterive. It is therefore about twice as long as the Boucle du Lac. One route goes around the lake, while the other passes between three towns—a concrete difference if you want to compare route length and course.
The ForĂŞt de Montpensier runs along the boundary of Bellerive and extends towards Serbannes, Brugheas and Aigueperse. It has walking trails, including the PR43, for walks on foot or by bicycle. The forest trails thus complement the two routes mentioned above, offering another way to explore the surrounding area on foot or by bike.
Château park and history
The freely accessible Château du Bost park brings together a variety of features: an orchard and remarkable trees, a walking trail, a pond and a small square. The trail is part of the park, along with its green spaces and pond, so you can take in different parts of the grounds during your visit.
The Château du Bost was probably built under Charles VII. The lordship of Bost, also known as Box, and the château have been documented since the early 15th century. Throughout the year, the Château du Bost hosts “Légendes d’automne,” concerts by the music school and a nature festival. This brings historical connections together with a cultural programme featuring a range of events.
Events throughout the year
The park of the intermittent spring hosts numerous events and markets throughout the year. Individual programmes may change, so it is worth checking the latest dates before your trip.
Horse racing is also part of the events programme: races have been held at the Vichy-Bellerive racecourse since 1875. Around 40 trotting and flat races are held during the season, from May to October. Specific dates may vary from year to year; if a race day is part of your travel plans, it is best to check the race calendar in advance.
Sports activities for a range of interests
The Golf du Sporting-Club has an 18-hole course, which non-members can also book. The golf school offers activities for children and seniors, as well as individual and group lessons. This means you can consider the course and lessons as two distinct aspects of the golf offering.
The Stade Aquatique has an indoor and an outdoor sports pool, an indoor leisure pool with a slide, a teaching pool, a paddling pool and a fitness area. The facilities thus include sports and teaching pools as well as leisure and fitness areas.
For a further choice of sports, there is the Omnisportpark. France’s largest omnisports complex covers 120 hectares of wooded land by Lac d’Allier. Its indoor and outdoor facilities allow visitors to take part in around 60 sports. Together with golf and the Stade Aquatique, it offers a broad range of sporting options to consider when planning your stay.
