Landscape and protected areas

The Flade Bakker are part of a terminal moraine hill system on the north coast of Mors, rising to 88 metres. The area’s geological features also include marl layers. Together with Flade’s location where hills meet flatland, these features create a varied landscape. Margrethe Kilde spring is located in the Flade Bakker.

Nearby, the Salgjerhøj-Hanklit area is one of the three largest protected landscapes on Mors. Hanklit has been protected under Danish nature conservation law since 1937 and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2026.
