Rødkærsbro offers different ways to spend your stay: a walk along the stream, activities and individual historical sites. You can decide while planning which of these will shape your visit. Would you prefer to plan a walking route, include sports and play areas, or learn about local history? This distinction can also help you tailor your search for a holiday rental to your own interests in excursions.

Circular Walk and Path at Vindelsbæk

At Vindelsbæk, a 2 km circular walk leads through grazed meadows, alongside the railway line and across the more local of the two dams on the stream. The route length gives you a clear point of reference; the meadow landscape and railway line are also part of the walk. The Vindelsbæk path has been resurfaced with new gravel, widened and extended across the meadow and beyond the stream. This type of outing differs from the individual recreation areas by the school and hall: here, the focus is on a route, while each of those areas has a specific place at its centre.

Activities by the School and Hall

There are two different facilities near the school and Rødkærsbro Hall. The pump track was built next to the school and hall; the multi-use pitch was created in 2008 behind the hall and near the school. It has perimeter boards, lighting and artificial turf, is intended for all kinds of sports and youth activities, and is operated by Rødkærsbro Hall. The hall is located at Brandstrupvej 25, 8840 Rødkærsbro. The facilities therefore differ both in form and in their precise location: the pump track is next to the school and hall, while the multi-use pitch is behind the hall and near the school.

Play and Prehistory in Sydbyen

There is a play area for small children in the Sydbyen area on Mimosevej. The Sydbyen site also contains traces of a prehistoric longhouse, described on an information board. For planning your trip, these are two different points of interest: the play area is specifically designed for small children, while the board covers an archaeological subject. Depending on your interests, you can decide whether play facilities for small children or the longhouse are more important in this area.

Station Building and Genforeningssten

The current station building at Jernbanegade 7 was built in 1911. Nine years later, on 11 July 1920, the Genforeningssten was erected. The 0.9 m-high stone, made of pink granite, stands in the northern part of the Lunden grounds, north of the railway line. The grounds can be accessed via Bjerrevej. The dates form a clear sequence: first came the station building, followed later by the stone as another historical point of interest.

For planning your day, a route and fixed points of interest offer different options: the walk is listed as 2 km long, while the hall and Sydbyen are specific locations with different facilities. When searching for a holiday rental in Rødkærsbro, it helps to first choose the focus of your stay: walking, activities or local history.
