Roslev offers nature and local history in many forms. Roslev Søpark is a green recreation area near the town centre; Roslev Kirke and Roslev Mølle represent different aspects of history. For your plans, you can also consider hiking and cycling routes, as well as a shorter walking trail at Jenle on Salling.

Cycling route and nature trails

The Salling Nature Trail is 29 kilometres long and forms part of the national cycling route connecting Hanstholm with Copenhagen. The national cycling route from Copenhagen to Hanstholm passes through Roslev. For a specific trip, it is worth checking the latest route information, as routes may change. This lets you tailor your plans to the route in question.

Relaxing at Roslev Søpark

Søpark is near the town centre and combines the character of a green recreation area with a practical role in activities in the surrounding area: it serves as a starting point for walks and cycle rides. The park has wheelchair-friendly paths; check the latest information about the paths before your visit. This makes it interesting both as a destination in its own right and as a starting point for a trip.

Roslev Søpark has two shelter huts, each with room for four people. If you are basing your plans on these facilities, check the latest information in advance, as details may change.

Church and mill history

Roslev Kirke is a distinctive Romanesque ashlar church with an apse, chancel and nave. Its Romanesque baptismal font has a smooth, unusually large bowl; part of the base is apparently missing. The building is also described as a wayside church. If you would like to see the church interior, check access before your visit.

Roslev Mølle was built in 1882 by Mads Kristian Sørensen to replace a mill that had burned down in 1880. The two years establish a clear sequence in the mill’s history: the fire was followed by the replacement building. Together with the church, the mill offers a different perspective on local history from the paths and green spaces.

Walking and culture at Jenle

The Digterruten ved Jenle starts at Jenle on Salling and is a 1.7-kilometre walking trail by the Limfjord. Nature, history and poetry come together along the route. The terrain is varied, including gravel paths, small trails and open sections. At 1.7 kilometres, the route is considerably shorter than the 29-kilometre Salling Nature Trail; length, themes and terrain offer different points of reference when choosing a walk or a longer route.

The Jenle Festival is the annual highlight of Aakjærselskabet and features a cultural and political programme. If the festival is important to your travel dates, check the latest event dates in advance. This lets you choose between a walk with a literary connection and a stay shaped by the festival’s cultural programme.
