Březolupy lies on an important route between Zlín and Uherské Hradiště. When planning your trip, you can include the church and monument in the village, circular trails with designated lengths, and Hluboček Pond with its nature trail and swimming opportunities. If you are looking for a holiday apartment for your stay in Březolupy, you can first consider whether culture, exercise or time by the water should be the deciding factor. The local details can help you choose a specific focus.
Local Culture and Speedway History
The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands on the village square and is well worth a visit. The stone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dates from 1727. Since 1963, the Březolupy speedway track has hosted championships, qualifying and youth races, league competitions and open races. Sacred architecture, a stone sculpture and motorsport thus offer different insights into the village.
Circular Trails on Foot and by Bike
The blue “Okolo Březolup” circular trail starts and ends at the castle. It runs for 13.9 km past Hluboček Pond and several gazebos. The lengths and elevation gains of the three hiking loops make it easy to compare their scale: KAMÉNKA is 5.7 km long with an elevation gain of 86 m, while CHRÁSTKA is 6.2 km long with an elevation gain of 96 m. The two differ by 0.5 km and 10 m, respectively. The outer LAPAČ loop is considerably longer, at 11.2 km and 208 m; compared with KAMÉNKA, that is an additional 5.5 km and 122 m. This lets you compare two shorter loops of similar length with a considerably longer one.
Cycling route No. 5055 is 28 km long and runs between Topolná and Zlín through Březolupy. It is classified as moderately difficult. In addition to the hiking loops, you can therefore consider a longer cycling route and a different type of activity. As route conditions may change, check them before setting out.
Hluboček Pond and the Landscape
Chrástka Quarry lies right beside the pond and is designated as a significant landscape feature with notable flora and fauna. The nature trail at Hluboček includes two wooden boardwalks and a water pavilion with an access walkway. From there, you can observe and explore the flora and fauna above, on and below the water’s surface, further from the shore. This offers a different focus from swimming or relaxing on the shore, which the pond also allows. Swimming conditions may change; check them locally before swimming. The pond is also officially part of a fishing area managed by the Moravian Anglers’ Union.
Disc Golf in the Park
The disc golf course is in the park behind the health centre and is freely accessible. Four tee areas and four baskets make it possible to play up to twelve holes. The number of baskets and the possible number of holes are not the same: the course allows for up to twelve holes. As the facilities may change, it is worth checking local conditions shortly before your visit.
