Rokytná Nature Park begins in Příštpo. This gives the village a clear connection to nature and routes for planning a trip: a designated trail runs through the park via Příštpo, and a 32 km cycling loop also includes the village. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Příštpo, you can first decide whether nature watching, a route through the nature park or a longer cycling loop should shape your stay. The village and the area south of its built-up area also offer historical points of interest.

Rokytná, floodplains and nature watching

Rokytná Nature Park is a 27 km² wooded, protected valley along the Rokytná; its landscape includes rocks and floodplain meadows. A designated route through the park passes through Příštpo. The yellow water-lily grows in a meander of the Rokytná upstream of Příštpo.

Numerous endangered plant and animal species can be found along the Rokytná near Příštpo. With a little luck, you may spot noble crayfish and kingfishers in the river area. The protected landscape of the nature park and the opportunity to observe nature along the river are two distinct aspects to choose from when planning a stay.

Routes through the nature park and by bike

The 15.5 km route through the nature park runs from Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou via Královec, Příštpo and Pulkovský Mlýn to Biskupice. Příštpo is shown at kilometre 5. The route ends in Biskupice and should therefore be distinguished from a loop.

The 32 km cycling loop “Z Jaroměřic do údolí Rokytné” runs via Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou, Příštpo, Rozkoš, Biskupice-Pulkov, Radkovice and Myslibořice, returning to Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou. This means that a 15.5 km route ending in Biskupice is an alternative to a longer loop that returns to Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou. The two routes differ in both length and format.

A yellow-marked hiking trail also runs through the nature park and can be ridden by mountain bike; the described route passes through Příštpo. Cycle route 5263 runs through the built-up area of the village. Check current route conditions before setting out.

Historical traces in Příštpo

Příštpo is mentioned in sources dating from 1190 under the name Preschep. In 1821, a farm in Příštpo was described as the base of those responsible for an uprising against forced labour in part of the Znojmo estate. These dates offer different insights into the village’s history.

The village has a monument to those who fell in 1945. A chapel is also one of Příštpo’s sights. South of the built-up area stands Justýnka, a rock about 10 m high associated with a legend from the Thirty Years’ War. Bednářův mlýn is also located south of the built-up area.
