When looking for a holiday apartment, it is worth distinguishing the main village from Dobrá Voda as two separate local references: the settlement belongs to the municipality of Mladoňovice and lies one kilometre south of the main village. Topics to explore during a stay include pilgrimage traditions, local history and local recreational opportunities.

Pilgrimage and Chapels

Dobrá Voda has been a pilgrimage site since the 18th century. The pilgrimage takes place on the Sunday after the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary, which the Roman Catholic Church celebrates on 12 September. If you would like to plan your trip around this tradition, check the date of that Sunday in the relevant year's calendar. This makes it possible to time your visit to coincide with the church feast day.

The so-called Water Chapel in the settlement of Dobrá Voda was built in the mid-18th century; the probable construction period is considered to be between 1725 and 1745. It has been a listed monument since 1958. Beneath its niche, a spring emerges from a pipe in the panelled wall and flows away through a channel in the floor. The construction period, protected status and spring each offer a different point of reference for understanding the chapel's history and architecture.

The pilgrimage chapel of Jména Panny Marie is situated on a hill above the chapel with the spring and is connected to it by a staircase.

Petr Mladoň and Local History

Petr Mladoň was born in Mladoňovice in 1390 and was elected rector of the university in 1439. The two dates mark different milestones: his birthplace and his later rectorship. This biographical connection offers a distinct perspective on the history of the village alongside its religious heritage.

The exhibition about Petr Mlado was established in 2012 and is housed in a former poorhouse beside the municipal office. It includes collections on the history of the municipality, archaeological finds from the surrounding area and other historical records about the municipality. The exhibition thus brings together material traces from the area and written evidence of local history.

Remains of a medieval fortress have also been preserved in Mladoňovice. Another local landmark is the Chapel of St Florian, with a large stone cross. The two points of interest are quite different: the fortress consists of preserved remains, while the chapel and stone cross are considered a landmark of the village.

Recreation and Getting Around

The Asuán fishpond covers 6,000 m² and offers opportunities for local recreation. Unlike the chapels, fortress remains and local history, the focus here is on a body of water as a place for recreation. This makes it possible to shape the focus of a trip around religious heritage, history or a local leisure activity.

As a specific road reference, Road II/408 from Jemnice to Znojmo passes through Dobrá Voda. Together with the settlement's location one kilometre south of the main village, this information helps distinguish the two local references: Mladoňovice refers to the municipality and the main village, while Dobrá Voda is the settlement to the south within the municipality.
